Meanwhile I stopped waiting for a Kioskmode from Oculus. This is not a reliable company for business use cases. I found the PicoVR Headsets:

    Here're the most important facts:
    - business only! you can't order at amazon, but they send me a testdevice within days
    - here're the docs: http://us-dev.picovr.com/document/doc
    - android based
    - shipping ready for kiosk mode
    - the pico g2 4k has a great display, much better than the go
    - SDK for unity
    - responsive technical support

This is how my device works now: starts up, when usb is powered. Direct after boot it launches my app. If the app would crash, it launches the app again (=home launcher). If user presses Power Button or Home Button, nothing happens. It's impossible for the user to exit the app running in the headset . It's a perfekt kiosk mode for VR. I programmed a special button combination, to enter the great settings menu (android 2D Settings) which gives you access to nearly all settings possible.

We also need this feature. Asking oculus via forum/mail/twitter since 2017 but no solution yet.

We create apps for museums and schools and currently some customers don't start VR projects, because it's too complicated. And they're right: Starting 10 devices, explaining which app to start, long press the lower button, "not this, this one! but don't press it again... where are you now?"

The upcoming "oculus for business" is no real option. Good for big companies, but usage for culture, education, etc. the higher price and annual fees are too high.

We also need this feature. Asking oculus via forum/mail/twitter since 2017 but no solution yet. Important for a working kiosk mode: disable "Enter VR" screen for a usage without controller.
