Thanks for voting for this idea! Within the 1.42 PTC software update, there is an option to disable the automatic launching of Home. Switching this setting off will stop Home from auto-launching in scenarios like jumping into VR and exiting out of apps. You can find this option within the Settings > General menu inside Oculus desktop app. Please opt into the public test channel to check it out and let us know what you think!

I don't really know anyone that uses Home. I know they're out there, but more often than not I see people complaining about no option to turn it off.
It's a nice "first experience" to play around in, but after that becomes unnecessary clutter when all I want is to load into an app.

Home 2 is a VERY heavy process (Unreal Engine 4) to have to keep loading into for what is meant to be a performance-efficient device. It also takes up a good deal of disk space.
I understand it doesn't run when other apps are running, but I would prefer it doesn't load in the first place and put my PC under unnecessary strain. I have a powerful PC, this isn't a cry from someone using under-spec gear, and I still want to be able to choose.

Allow the option to either not install Home, delete it after installation, or have it not load at all. All it needs is a tickbox in preferences.
Please help us out by making this official.

Yes please. An option to not include Home at all would be optimal.
I don't want my PC loading home in the background while first launching in and trying to play an app. I hate the way it overlays on Steam VR if I get the timing wrong, and I would prefer to NOT have to spare 13GB of hard-drive space for a feature I never use.
