Thanks for voting for this idea! Within the 1.42 PTC software update, there is an option to disable the automatic launching of Home. Switching this setting off will stop Home from auto-launching in scenarios like jumping into VR and exiting out of apps. You can find this option within the Settings > General menu inside Oculus desktop app. Please opt into the public test channel to check it out and let us know what you think!

Yes, Dash 2.0 has made my Rift unusable. Worked perfectly for over a year but now going into storage with my DK1 and DK2 in hopes there will be a future update that isn't about designed obsolescence. We need a way to launch our games without all the useless overhead that Dash 2 offers. Also would be nice to have the option to not upgrade Oculus software at all, there has never been an update that made things better and forced updates just ensures us that our hardware only works as long as it can phone home and update to the latest version. My old Z800 HMD still works after 20 years and doesn't need to phone home to be able to use it. For me, I'm back to using my old VR set-up with older games and my 3D DLP projector for newer games in 3D. I'll try my CV1 again in a month or so before I put it on ebay.
