Hey all – we’re marking this idea as started, as joystick locomotion was implemented in a previous software update. However, from the comments, it is clear that this idea has morphed a bit to include the specific request of strafing being included in the control scheme. I’ve updated the idea title to include the request for strafing controls. Thanks!

should have been implemented as a non default option from go IMHO. REALLY weird that so many games had successfully implemented it way before the home was launched.

Thanks for voting for this idea! Within the 1.42 PTC software update, there is an option to disable the automatic launching of Home. Switching this setting off will stop Home from auto-launching in scenarios like jumping into VR and exiting out of apps. You can find this option within the Settings > General menu inside Oculus desktop app. Please opt into the public test channel to check it out and let us know what you think!

i love the new home, but i let my friend try it and they really disliked it. they had no interest in the home or making one of their own and said that it was a pain to go through the home to get to the dash. i think that it would be a good idea to have an option in the desktop program to select the classic home if you so choose.

It would be great if the store/mall was a social space. some times it would be nice to talk to people that are shopping to hear what they have played and why they liked it. i know there are reviews but i cant ask a review a question. i would keep the old store as an option for those who like it. but i would love a mall. its more fun plus immersion is the new graphics! and actually shopping for the games is super immersive and kind of funny if you think about it. we have become a society that buys everything online. now in the VR world to buy games we go to the VR mall. Hilarious. i want to get lost in a VR universe. lets get there. If anyone can do it its the Oculus crew.
