An error occurred while saving the comment A consistent default brightness is nice for app developers since they can generally control the experience people get, but some people have sensitive eyes or eye injuries and can't handle the default brightness. It also exacerbates flicker for people with flicker sensitivity at 75 Hz. App developers like Superhot are already modifying their apps to accommodate this, but a system-level setting is ideal.

I personally think this would be really disorienting. It's annoying that some apps can't be used in bed but when the horizon isn't horizontal it tends to lead to discomfort.
