This sounds like a great friction reducing addition. It may add confusion though. Bringing the keyboard up makes the dash bar disappear so if there was a very industrious user they could potentially have a keyboard up behind them and wonder why the dash bar is missing. The dash bar disappears to prevent collision with the keyboard.

Maybe adding a bounding line and box around the dash bar and have the dash bar disappear only if the keyboard is between the dash bar and the user or the keyboard is between the monitor and the dash bar or there is direct collision between the dash bar and the keyboard will fix the problem.

Synced to the cloud is a stretch here. Windows would need to be involved to enable applications to launch and be stored remotely. Possible but the heavy lift and small userbase probably makes this wishful thinking for the near future. This sounds like a logical progression for AR with cloud compute, though.

Hi all! Thanks for submitting and voting for this idea.

We recently added the ability to adjust the Guardian sensitivity, which you can find in the settings menu while in VR.

Since this idea is a bit more expansive in terms of what is being asked for, we’re going to leave this open for voting. We hope you enjoy the new Guardian settings that have been added in the meantime!

To achieve this the buttons for resetting view and exit buttons could possibly move to some sort of menu that appears when clicking on the experience's icon in the dash bar. A long click gesture could be added for the menu (similar to right click) and the short click kept or instead a "maximize" button could be added to the menu and short click used only.

Resetting the view per-app appears to be the goal since the buttons appear on the app window (which is per-app). Having the new, equivalent app window appear and "grow" from the dash bar temporarily, only after the dash bar icon is clicked and disappearing after the user exits Dash or clicks the dash bar icon again, might be a less confusing implementation of the app window since closing Dash and entering the experience is equivalent to "viewing the app" in a classical 2D interface sense.

There would be no need to copy classic 2D dynamic window managers and have a persistent window for each app in the Dash DWM since being present on the the dash bar indicates it is minimized and seeing it currently in your field of view means it is maximized.
