Hi all! Thanks for submitting and voting for this idea.
As part of the build 7.0 update that is rolling out this week, we’ve improved the overall performance of Guardian and added the following new features:
- If your Guardian boundaries are too sensitive, you can adjust them from the Guardian settings page.
- If you need to adjust your floor height, you no longer have to reset your Guardian. Instead, you can make adjustments right from your Guardian settings page.
- You can now set multiple Guardians in the same room and switch between them.Since this idea is a bit more expansive in terms of what is being asked for, we’re going to leave this open for voting for now. We hope you enjoy the new Guardian settings that have been added in the meantime!

I think it should be a user option to decide what kind of "default app" to go to when leaving VR expeirences. I got a pretty high end computer, but I do not want to waste power on going to Oculus Home every time I leave a VR app.
Its long overdue for Oculus to add a way to either disable Home or make it an option to do something different.

Hey all – we’re marking this idea as started, as joystick locomotion was implemented in a previous software update. However, from the comments, it is clear that this idea has morphed a bit to include the specific request of strafing being included in the control scheme. I’ve updated the idea title to include the request for strafing controls. Thanks!

Oh, and another thing, it could be made possible to use teleport and locomotion at the same time... that would also help a lot.

Sure is nice this finally got added... somewhat.
It sure lacks the option to make it possible to turn faster and move faster, and even more importantly, that one of the controllers should move you sideways (sometimes called strafing) as its the way you would expect to be able to move. Right now, turning so slow and not being able to strafe makes the current joystick locomotion option almost useless sadly.

Ahh, I knew it was a good day to check up on this. I will try out the new movement options now :D

This idea have had the most votes for 5 months now... why has it not been implemented?
I keep being annoyed by having to teleport everywhere. Is it really that Oculus are scared of the "risk" of users getting motion sick? Because for some of us, teleportion and snap movement is about as annoying. Well I dont get motion sick, but I do get disoriented having to move like this and it somewhat ruins the whole "Home" experience. I would feel like using it much more if it was not for this.

Interesting idea, but not sure Oculus alone could solve it? I think it would require something from Windows as well. Would be pretty nice. Also right now you seem to have to use these small HDMI and DisplayPort plugs that can be used to make Windows think you have more than one display, to get extra desktops to play with in Oculus Dash. But again, its very likely also a problem with Windows, as multiple desktops is a Windows feature, that is not easy to make happen without making Windows think there is hardware to show the display to.
But come to think of it... these small HDMI and Display Port plugs should be a possible "fix" for this problem. I guess GPU would still be used for it, but I dont think you can stop Windows from rendering the desktop anyway, so what you do get is that the monitor itself would not be using power.
Something like a EDID HDMI Headless Ghost Display Emulator, which you plug into an HDMI port and the computer thinks you have a 1440p monitor in that port.

This could be pretty cool, especially if there was some interactive object to control it. Say maybe you can link a Spotify / Youtube / whatever playlist to an LP player, it you would have virtual reality buttons on it to change track and such, or some other kind of music item.
Maybe take the idea from Neon Retro Arcade where you can add audio cassettes and VHS tapes to your home and make it possible to listen to music from Youtube or even watch videos from Youtube inside your Home by putting this tape into a ghettoblaster or a VHS video.

Yes, would be nice with a better headstrap, but would be even nicer if one was made that made for a better headset, so that it might also have features like on ear headphones and maybe a flip-up visor connector that could somehow be put on top of the Quest headset.
