I disagree with Isaac C. I didn't buy a Facebook device, I bought an Oculus device. The company was then bought by Facebook and so making it obligatory to log in through Facebook is unacceptable. My contract was with Oculus not Facebook. I do not want yet more Facebook snooping into my life. I barely use Facebook and will not use it just because Oculus changes ownership.
If this goes ahead I wil no longer be able to use my Quest. This is a totally unreasonable step that has NOTHING to do with customer service.
Let those who want to use Facebook do so but please, leave the rest of us alone. This is an unfair decision. Facebook's reputation for respecting people's privacy is poor at best. I hope one day the law addresses poor decisions like this and imposes a regulator to stop software/hardware and web companies from doing as they like without any redress for their behaviours.
