Remove Mandatory Facebook Login!
Remove Mandatory Facebook login in order to accept friend requests and use the Oculus app. I have never had Facebook nor do i want it. I just want to play vr. I don’t want to have to have facebook to enjoy my 500$ Virtual Reality Headset with my friends.

I deleted my FB account years ago. I don't intend to ever make a new one. Please fix this nonsense.
We could all just use the Facebook account of a family member or friend (assuming the family member or friend will allow us to). As an added bonus, doing this will ***** over the Facebook data collection metrics. I feel pretty screwed given this requirement, so let's dish it back!

You never used to have to do this with the rift. This is a vile add on that is making me just want to sell my headsets. I'd rather save up for a Valve Index than have to deal with fb. Scummy system.
Remove mandatory Facebook login!
When I purchased the Oculus Quest NOWHERE on the box does it say Facebook required for use of the Quests social features.
This is predatory behavior and I believe illegal?!
I cannot and WILL NOT recommend any Oculus products until this is changed.
I should not have to link my personal social media account, especially Facebook which has a poor track record of maintaining user data!
You cannot even begin to understand the brand damage that is happening here, I see absolutely NO reason Facebook should be linked with my Oculus account.
You want fiercely loyal customers? Then stop this nonsense at once!

Can stress how frustrating it is to be locked out of looking at my own media recorded on my quest. Let alone accepting friend requests.

I totally agree. I've deleted my facebook account years ago and I will absolutely not create a new one (making a fake one is also almost impossible)
I would rather pay an extra fee for an online function (like nintendo does)

My friend let me borrow his extra oculus during quarantine so we could play together and as soon as I set it up I’m faced with a mandatory login just to talk with him. I don’t use Facebook from hearing countless bad experiences with it, and now to play a game on what is a great vr headset, I have to create a Facebook account?
I paid $500 for my Quest just to learn that the entirety of my social features are locked unless I agree to have my data sold on Facebook in order to “personalize” my ads. This is nonsense.. I don’t even use apps like Facebook in the first place. We bought your product, we shouldn’t be required to give you anything else if we don’t want to.
I agree with the others here. I've never had a Facebook account and will never have one. Facebook is the bane of our society, truly an evil form of capitalism. No thanks Oculus unless you make the change.
You don't need more data from me.
I literally never use any of the functions on my Quest that require Facebook, and while I love the Quest, I would absolutely switch to another manufacturer's product if it were competitive on VR features at a similar price point, but didn't involve Facebook.

I can’t play with any of my friends that have a quest because they refuse to make a Facebook account for it, this is ridiculous to make this mandatory to have any social fun on the quest or go into venues, please be a company that listens to its customers and change this

I am so disgusted by this requirement. Facebook buying Oculus is one of the most disappointing things to happen to the future of technology that I can imagine. Please remove the Facebook requirement. I don't want a Facebook account, I don't need a Facebook account, and it's already bad enough that I've given Facebook any money by purchasing a Quest in the first place. You're a disgusting, horrible, disturbing company that's deeply harmful to humanity.
You release a product that has X system in place for social interactions, you create an account for it and login and use it for a year. Then some guy comes by and puts a second login underneath locking people from previous content they had unless they accept the worst terms of service in the world currently. This is unacceptable, I want a full refund for this spyware trash. Ill go buy cardboard and build a fort instead, its free 3d.

Yeah how dare you require a Facebook login for social activities. PlayStation doesn't require PlayStation Plus to play online. Xbox doesn't require Xbox live to play online. Nintendo doesn't require Nintendo Switch online.
At least come up with a LAN play option.
agreed. My child does not have a facebook account. He just wants to gameplay with friends. He certainly doesn't need to be on social media to interact with his buddies.

It's truly disgusting to purchase a company, then force your privacy-selling, dystopian software down the existing user's throats. Remove this requirement or you'll be losing a lot of business. I've been a supporter of oculus for years, but this has me telling my friends to look elsewhere for a good vr experience.
We have multiple Quests and really enjoy them but may have to switch to another company if the Facebook requirement is not removed. It’s shameful that I should have to agree to your data mining
to play with members of my own household.
I was so disappointed to learn social features on my Quest require facebook. I will NEVER have a facebook account again so I am just waiting until a device comes out better than the Quest so I can leave this dumpster fire company back in 2010 where it belongs.
Change this Oculus, or else you are gonna have a ton of disatisfied customers..
