List of Stored Guardians with Options
Implement a list of currently stored guardians in the Quest settings.
This opens up a number of opportunities.
The option to delete one or more guardians, instead of only being able to delete all of them, which is the only thing you can do now. This is useful if you make a guardian for a space you never intend on going back to (like a hotel room), mess up on a guardian, accidentally make 2 guardians of the same space, etc.
When Quests starts up, if it can’t detect the room, instead of solely having the option to crate a new guardian, you can be prompted to choose from the list of existing guardians (or still create a new one, as you can now). This is much faster than having to turn the system on/off to help it find the guardian for the room; faster than waiting until it figures out what room you’re in; and faster than drawing a new guardian, if you know you already have one stored. Quest not recognizing a room/finding a guardian happens far too often for me.
The ability to edit guardians to alter the layout (adding/removing from the stored guardian area, instead of having to just start over). Adding a way to subtract from the guardian area instead of just add - suggestion from another post - would make this far more useful (there’s a bunch of other buttons on the controllers - making one subtract instead of add would be great) Regardless, though, being able to edit already-saved guardians would be fantastic (example: my wife moved our living room table like 6 inches to the side, and it’s not moving back for a number of reasons - so, it would be nice to be able to edit the guardian for my living room to accommodate the new position of the table, instead of having to remake the entire guardian).
To help all of this work, any time a new guardian is made, it could ask you to give a name to that guardian (or allow you to choose a default name, such as the date/time it’s made, or even pre-set names for common locations - living room, basement, bedroom, etc.). For saved guardians, you can rename them right from list (useful in general, but especially for previously-made guardians that didn’t have a prompt to name them), and the list could show an icon of small blueprint-style overhead view of each guardian layout, to make it easier to identify which guardian is which (in order to rename/delete/edit them, as needed).
There may be a concern that some people could use a guardian for a wrong room by choosing it in the list when in the wrong space, accidentally or intentionally, but A. You’d still have to confirm the guardian after choosing it, and B. Anyone can make any guardian layout at any time now, completely unrelated to the room, accidentally or intentionally - so no real change there.
Make this happen!
