Referral Program for Quest???!!
If Oculus is trying to be the catalyst to bring VR to the mainstream it needs a referral program!!! I spent a nice chunk of time on Saturday showing off Quest at a BBQ. 10 new people who had never experienced VR before had their mind completely blown. Most asked for a link for me to send them so they can go buy it this week. It would be nice if I can get them a discount and also get a credit for being a foot soildier for the VR movement. Jus sayin.

Agreed. I've shown the Quest to a few family and friends which has sparked some interest, and simply taking a co-worker through First Steps has got him putting plans in place to get one over Christmas.
I'm also looking to organise a few VR-related events at work which could get a bunch more people on board.
An extra thing I'd like to add is that I believe the existing referral programs for the other Oculus products are only for North America, Europe and Japan. As someone who lives in Australia it would be great if this become available in our region as well.

I can definitely see that the hardware is at a very reasonable price. I think that success, even early, is measured in the number of hardware owners. Each owner will definitely buy software. The more owners you have, the more viable the platform becomes. Something like VR where it can be difficult for someone who has never used one really needs people to expose those who wouldnt normally try it. I have several friends who thought it was neat to see videos but until they played it in person, were really sold. I think thats where incentives really help this kind of platform, even if initially it costs oculus some money. We bring more friends along for the ride and then everyone makes more purchases because now our friends are playing.

Its the same here. Took the Quest on a plane top the east coast. Showed 15 people . They all wanted to buy. (Best Buy and Amazon are completely sold out)

If someone buys a oculus go under your referral you get $20 for the store. This should be the same for quest.

I read somewhere that they are actually selling them at a hardware loss and relying on at least $20 in game sales per headset for profits, so this may not be a good option for them.
