Virtual Desktop with steam VR support !
Remove the ban for Virtual Desktops steam VR WiFi support ! This feature is the best feature since the launch of the Quest and WE WANT IT !
Thank you for this submission. As mentioned by Jason Rubin on Twitter (https://twitter.com/Jason_Rubin/status/1139645545713041408) , we asked to have the update containing this feature rolled back. We accept experiences vary, but in our testing we found that this feature compromised comfort, safety, and quality to different levels for various people. Our developer strategy team will continue to evaluate all apps and features to ensure the best possible user experience for all.

I was going to buy a Quest, but not now. I'll wait for another company to have a better product

With the right PC and WiFi hardware it worked fantastically. Would have been a nice "bridge" to pull more SteamVR customers over as the Quest game catalog grows.

Jimmy, thanks for the response parroting what Jason said. Unfortunately the only real way this decision makes sense to me is if you make a proper way to stream to Quest from Oculus on PC with the same great quality as VirtualDesktop SteamVR already has.
*It already works* say whatever you want to pretend this is anything more than an attempt to block SteamVR from Quest, but what you could really do to win-win here is benefit the PC VR market with the people purchasing Quest who already have VR-capable PC's.
My GTX 1070 is getting use, my Oculus Rift sits collecting dust unless I'm developing, because VR without a cable is the game changer, and the Quest's display being way better than my CV1 doesn't help either.
Rift S looks neat enough sure, but I'm not buying another wired VR headset unless I absolutely have to for work, because the wire is the anchor that pulls my head to the ground, or to the center in the case of a ceiling line.
Anyway, not expecting this to be read anymore, but thanks anyway for trying to spin this in a way that sounds like it's best for the consumer / user.
It only justifies the third party commercial app stores that are coming next, and the VirtualDesktop + Revive combo efforts ahead.

Like so many here (3408 Votes / 818 comments ) i Purchased the Quest with excitement of its possibilities
Firstly after seeing how much you are charging the customer your Games and Apps in the store I'm Shocked. (compared to Gear VR by OCULUS)I have been a user of Samsung Gear VR powered By Oculus since the beginning, even originally making my own Headsets for Google Cardboard, and to be honest the Quest is a Big Purchase for me. Money i do not have.
The Decision to to Buy a Quest was mostly because it was a way of using the new hardware and using some of the great features of Steam VR, and you have show your True Colours by BULLYING the developer of Virtual Desktop into removing this streaming feature.
SHAME ON YOU , are you not making enough money ?? were they THREAT to you ??
THANK YOU for £500 wasted and now going on FACEBOOK MARKET PLACE -

I couldn't afford a gaming computer along with the Oculus Rift so i bought the Oculus Quest. The quest is amazing in so many ways but i only wish i could access Steam through the headset or even through virtural desktop and run the game from the headset because my laptop just isnt up to spec.
Please Oculus

I work in Architecture - and being able to stream wirelessly from a workstation would allow for much larger, higher quality environments. - Think full-size walkthroughs and being able to change materials and objects while dealing with clients, all wirelessly.
It would also make developing easier. Being able to work remotely before uploading to the device would speed up the process considerably.

I understand why you guys want this, and I do too. But if you have sidequest, there’s Virtual Desktop Add on that allows you to play steamVR games again

VR is supposed to about having versatile fun and exploring. What a shame! I already own a CV1 (which I love) and was also looking into the Quest to gift to 3 family members this year.
It looks like Oculus is getting greedy and time to look at other VR companies.
I will also be informing my friends and family members to avoid ALL Oculus products until the company does right by their current and future customers. -

Over 3000 votes and 800+ comments. You've ****** off so many users, Oculus. Maybe think of your user base's needs before you try to squeeze more money out of them.

The Quest store needs to stand on its own feet and be a compelling proposition so people WANT to buy products from it. Im assuming the motivation behind this was to force sales on Quest Store products. Lets just ignore all the titles that are not currently or will never be available. By removing this feature you have just made me research more ways to get around this restriction. Though i will still buy things from the the Quest store having a "Quest" tax on top of the "Australia" tax is more than just a bit ****. I'm learning so much about sideloading that i just wouldn't have if it were not for the feature removal. Also, wow, Viveport is a thing.

This is the only VR that I CAN get. My laptop clearly couldn't run anything else. If you wan't customers, revert this change. Otherwise I will inform everybody I can to NEVER buy your products.
