Have a pair of cheap in Chinese 4.0 Bluetooth buds knock offs that works.

Works like a charm under experimental features. Connected my AirPods Pro to Quest 2, amazing sound!

But only if they are bluetooth 5.1 so it's far enough for no lag

Totally agree. I am partially deaf and the sound coming from the built-in speakers is too low for me. When I use my Bluetooth bone conduction headphones I get a very slight lag in game untethered and if I have my Link cable plugged in, the sound has interference.

Very much needed please.

Bluetooth is already in the experimental features tab and for me it works flawlessly

I like this, but I would also want to see global audio delay settings. I am frankly not sure how that would work, though.

yeah, why no bluetooth headphones??? this is such a basic feature, why isnt this supported?

Enhanced sound is key to many apps with Oculus Quest and for a lot of those apps, corded headphones are not optimal, I broke a pair of headphones by pulling the cord with my hand by accident when playing.

This functionality already exists - I was able to connect my bluetooth headphones via the option under experimental settings

I would really love to be able to hook up the quest audio to my soundbar or a portable speaker. it would be way better than me having to buy an aux to bluetooth adapter, THEN pair it to the speaker.

I recently added LG wireless headphones in the Bluetooth config settings with no problem. Only minor latency not terrible. I wish I tried before spending hours searching for the workaround as it was not needed in my case. So for others looking to connect give it a shot first

A year late but you can definitely do this. At least with the AirPods you can.

Where is this latency story coming from?
I use BT headsets for most of my devices. I do not have latency. Not in games, not in video, not in OS's with notifications sounds. -

i dont see how latency would be a problem even with bluetooth 4...

Latency is the main problem. Bluetooth 5 has lower latency compared to BT 4, but I don't think the Quest has BT 5 with the 835 SOC, otherwise Oculus probably would've included the wireless option.
I don't really see the point in wireless headphones when your ears are mere centimeters from the jacks. It just introduces latency, reduced fidelity, more radio clutter and the inconvenience of having to charge them. -

This seems to have been added with the latest 7.0 release for Quest - I was able to connect my bluetooth headphones via the 'experimental' settings option although they can remove these settings at anytime

Bluetooth = latency. aptx low latency (if Quest supports it) will be <50ms. But most normal BT headsets introduce 100-300 ms of lag. Which is really bad for VR and rythm games.

( If someone publish an application on the store that trigger the bluetooth setting.
It is already implemented in the Quest. It is just not accessible. )
The command to use is:
adb shell am start -a android.settings.BLUETOOTH_SETTINGS
