Add option to remove red dot when casting to phone/other device
One of the main use cases for the casting feature is to have someone unfamiliar with the Quest using it and someone else watching what they are doing and helping them. However, turning on casting currently adds an annoying red dot that detracts from the experience of the person using the headset. Please add an option to remove it.
As always, thanks to everyone who voted for this idea! I’m pleased to announce that a new option to disable the red dot indicator has been added with the v17 Quest software update! Simply head to the Settings > Device menu and look for the “Video Capture Indicator” feature. Toggling this off will make it so the red dot no longer appears within the headset when casting, recording, or livestreaming. For more details on the v17 update, check out our full release notes here: https://support.oculus.com/release-notes/
Please add option to remove red dot.

Please remove the red dot. It's extremely annoying and breaks the immersion. If you can't do this in setting can i suggest you add it as a dev option to remove maybe?

There is a new Update today, which is awesome, but I am sad to discover the red dot is still there :-(
I see your team’s effort in approving the casting function in v10update but the red dot really breaks the immersiveness and I avoid using that by resorting to other alternative which require much more effort and with fisheye view casted only. Really hope you would give us the option to switch off the red dot
I totally agree it is really annoying

You would think 1400+ comments would be more than enough to remove this. Hey developers pay attention!

Yeah, what the hell is this? When I first saw it I thought there was a burnt part of the screen.
Why does it have to be right in the middle of the screen?
Please turn this off!
GET RID OF RED DOT 🔴!!!
YES PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! So simple to do. It totally KILLS immersion!!!! The user already acknowledged in the headset that they know they are being watched. Why is that dam red dot in the line of site. Just get rid of it altogether!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE add an option to remove it. Completely ruins the casting experience for me.

PLEASE! I couldn't believe this wasn't an option in settings already. Why would the user need to know they are actively casting? Maybe they don't want someone seeing how bad they suck? It shouldn't have even been a feature, much less persistent. I hope this gets voted up and addressed soon! Thanks!
Remove that terrible red dot, it totally kills the immersion

I was trying to figure what the red dot was for. thought my screen was broken.
Just alert the user at the beginning of casting and when it stop is enough. The red dot is a terrible idea. Reminds me of the video recorder in the 80s

What a disapointment. We had hoped to use the Oculus Quest and oculus go as an Exposure therapy tool for anxiety, but the red dot makes it difficult for the user to become totally immerged into the experience, which is crusial for a succesfull therapy. We now have go for Lenovo Mirage Solo. Please remove the dot.!!!!!!
Please have the option to remove the red dot during casting . It's anoying.
