On Demand Passthrough button like Rift S
It would be nice to be able to toggle Passthrough on-demand like you can with the Rift S to be able to quickly see the world around you without having to pull the headset off of your face.
Good news! As part of the most recent Quest software update (version 15), we shipped Passthrough Shortcut as an experimental feature. To turn it on, navigate to Settings > Experimental. Once on, you can trigger the Passthrough camera view at any time by simply double-tapping on the side of the headset (no button pressing required!). Thanks again to everyone who voted for this idea!

There are so many possibilities that could be realized if this was allowed in app. Being able to measure furniture and stuff INSIDE the Quest would make this product killer in the non-gaming market as well! I already have a project set up for when this feature gets implemented.
100% agreed. I was thinking pressing all four A+B+X+Y at the same time would activate "emergency passthrough"
Oculus, please add this feature. We would like an on Demand passthrough button like the Rift S. Thank you John Carmack and team!

I was surprised that this feature wasn't there from the start. It's such an obvious one especially for a device that allows for more mobility than a tethered HMD.

Yes, this is needed. Also a way to watch movie apps and non movement based apps without having lights on.

On a serious note im suprised why this feature isn't in right now, please add it.
This feature would be so helpful. And for many safety reasons its a great idea. Please add!!
Please add this soon, I think it would be a great way to give someone a try in VR for the first time.
Activate passthrough, let them see the controllers then press a button and bam they are in VR!

I press home and switch to stationary (don't confirm), and then just cancel stationary when you're done. It's not great, and a definite workaround, but it's still only a couple clicks without taking the headset off.

We would like it exposed to Unity for AR development.
The ability to manually switch to the pass through camera in the event you need to see your space around you, perhaps double tapping both oculus buttons could activate this mode at anytime while pausing the game of course.
Is there a reason behind why this want a feature on day one?

Would be a great feature to have. Hope this is added soon!

I read on Reddit that it would be possible to do this by pressing the home button twice. But nope, did not work. Stepping outside the boundaries of the tracked area works... but that kind of defeats the purpose
This was already been requested and has lots of votes above.
yes, this would be a great feature to add.
It would be neat to have the ability to activate passthrough any time on the Oculus Quest.
