Use family accounts for app sharing and multiplayer across multiple devices.
Instead of adding 3 accounts on a given device (which means I can potentially have 10+ devices with my account as primary and 3 unique sets of accounts that I can share games with), follow Apple's example with Family Sharing for sharing apps across devices. In order for two Oculus Quest 2s to be able to play multiplayer with a single app purchase, both Quest 2s must have the same accounts, which means that one of the Quest 2s can't stream what it's doing so that other friends can watch the action. It's annoying to have to sign in to a secondary account in order to play multiplayer across devices and it's equally annoying that secondary accounts can't stream what's going on to the iPhone App.
Couldn’t agree more. I bought 2 headsets and was raving about how fun it is for me and my kids to play together at the same time. However, all of a sudden we can’t play together any longer.
The end result is that I have told the members on my team what happened… and guess what, you just lost the sales of about 20 headsets and likely 20 - 100+ game sales.
So, if your goal was to make money, you just lost. Instead, IF YOU TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMERS, THEY TAKE CARE OF YOU. That’s Business 101 and you just failed that class.
I understand protecting the investments of the developers by limiting how many devices you can share apps on but one device being shareable is certainly not enough. As of late, my wife and I had discussed buying a third Oculus but won't do it until we can share apps across at least all three. We have three children so there are five people in our household. We would like to buy more Oculus but it doesn't make sense if I have to keep re-buying apps. If you're going to limit the amount of accounts on one device to a total of four Then, it would seem reasonable to share apps on at least up to four devices. Especially all of the devices have the same accounts on them. Better yet, make the sharing account drven. Allow as many devices as you want. However, allow me to only share my apps with a limited number of accounts. So, I can only share with my registered family accounts like google play store does
