More exercise apps for beginning older adults with no gaming experience that move slower
As two 64 year olds we are loving the Oculus. However, there are very few apps that we can even attempt to keep up with. FitXR starts out way too fast, REAKT is way too fast and they annoyingly keep telling you to keep up. We love Supernatural even though we can't keep up yet, it's within our limits. Not interested in fighting or shooting or war-like games after 34 years in military. Dance, fitness, pingpong, tennis, any movement apps that are entertaining and make you exercise, BUT NOT TOO FAST.
I'm also 64. I consider shoveling snow my heart test. It "WAS" the only exercise I got all year long.
But I bought the Quest 2 for my Daughter, and decided to set it up for her. Well, I kept it :) (She got hers about a week late lol).
I've tried a lot of demo's. Creed nearly killed me. Seriously. And THAT's a Demo? gawd. I tried other stuff too, but usually stuck to poker.
But I have to say Beat Saber is the best one. Try the FREE Demo. I eventually bought it. It has many options to set up in a number of places, from easy to Expert+. It's great exercise for the arms and you will find yourself moving your legs dancing in no time.
The Downfall of Beat Saber is that it has limited songs, and add-on's are also limited and not worth it IMO. And, they lock you out of using your own, paid-for music files.
Another issue with Beat Saber is that it's ONE USER. SO, even though Facebook now allows multiple Accounts on ONE headset, Beat Saber does not allow multiple users. So, you can't keep separate scores (Greed).
Try the Beat Saber demo, then get it :), Other than that, I'm also waiting for ones that start off easier, with a gradual build up. Hopefully soon... Good Luck!!!
