Rechargable hand grips
I am sure its been posted, but, like some video game hand controllers, could you make the quest handgrips rechargeable with battery option so we don't plow through batteries or have to dismantle the grip every few uses to recharge store bought rechargable batteries. Unnecessary wear and tear and waste of
batteries that last only a couple of weeks, if that.
Buy 4 eneloop AA batteries and a charger for around $17.00 US. I bought some back in 2001 and had to toss ONE away last year. The other 3 are still working fine. I used them for 10-12 hours a day in my headset, every day. Two would Charge, while the other two were in use.
Yes, they don't last quite as long per charge as the disposable type (usually), but I did a calculation and after just 3 years I saved $209.00 ($219.00-$10.00 for batteries alone) and I also saved over 500 batteries from ending up in the landfill. That was for THREE YEARS! It's now been 10 years.
I find it so much better where we have access to the batteries, than to have them sealed in a device with some odd shape or standard, and when they die, trying to find a replacement to repair them. I think these are really a perfect design. JMHO.
