Update Netflix-app to current standards and HD
I know the Netflix app essentially was a pet project of John Carmack and it was really great on GearVR at the time.
Now it looks like a neglected child and need an upgrade to match the wonderful new hardware of the Quest 2.
Please talk to the concerned parties (Netflix?). And John, if you´re seeing this: Blow some magic coding dust its way. Please?
Wishlist by order of priority:
*Update the streams to HD-material - 480p doesn´t look good. (never really did, but now it looks horrendous)
*Update textures in the enviroment (gives us more enviroments?), Passthrough as background?
*Ability to watch together with a friend or two.
*Ability to download videos to the device.
*Give some love to Void Theatre and let us choose backdrops, color schemes or even passthrough + some more control on curvature of the screen.
*Maybe integrate it as an Oculus-TV-app?

This is ridiculous!
I guess there is no department in Netflix except accounting!
"Hey there's new media and the viewing experience is much better here.. It wouldn't be bad if you could do some improvement here!"

I got the oculus quest 2 to watch movies and found many issues with Netflix and prime. some other OTTs like disney+, HBO, Hulu don't even have an app. :( very dissapointed.

I don't understand how this wasn't taken care of long ago. Figure it out already folks and not just Netflix.

Please, for the love of god, update this app. 480p, with all that compression, is unwatchable.

Bad, it's just bad Oculus.

Yeah this is pretty poor, for a start ... The grey everywhere when you turn the room off. is stupid and a technical poor choice . Its using unnecessary power.. black will save power. When watching something you want max battery life.. and 480p why... Seriously why... Its 2022 . Its some sick joke that you cant choose your Quality.. or simply make it 1080p standard.... We pay for a Netflix account to watch high quality entertainment.... And we are given 480p .. its poor...

If there are other VR headset same price and doesn't kick netflix on browser, I will switch to that product.
This is 2022 and oculus doesn't do anything. We had better expecting competitors, as this is very great chance for them

Please make Netflix 1080p on Oculus
How is it we don't have better resolution in netflix VR yet

I don't understand why Netflix is making bad VR games and bad iOS games instead of upgrading the stream quality of their VR viewer.

Best idea ever for this app, plz make it happen, it's too bad we can't enjoy Netflix properly on the latest and hottest piece of tech.
Mark Connolly commented
This may be an early sign that Netflix is no longer a leader in technology and the streaming business model. Also, Facebook’s Oculus 2 brand is being significantly damaged by allowing the Netflix app on the platform with this poor quality.

Netflix has such huge cashflow sad to see get stretched so much so projects lacking of budget everywhere. You **** could compete with Amazon Prime video with 480P it is pathetic
