Bring Oculus Gallery to Quest2
On Quest1 there is a native Gallery app to view photos/videos. On Quest2 this app is missing and personal media can only be viewed through Oculus TV. The issue is with a large amount of files, OculusTV is impractical to use because you must scroll to the right to find files. Gallery allowed media to be grouped by directories. Files can be sorted in different ways with thumbnail and list view. For users with hundreds of photos and videos please either bring us Gallery or integrate the folder grouping and file sorting features into Oculus TV.
agree with what everyone said. We must have oculus gallery back. or make oculus tv have the same functionality as oculus gallery. mainly DLNA support.
Bring back gallery! I cant view my 360 photos and other media files! TV APP SUCKS!

Please add the Gallery app to Quest 2 -- I'm shocked you took it away, many of us used it to consume our VR media. This needs to be upvoted.

VR experience is not just as you would like it to be. It is not just beeing an ugly avatar playing stupid games in a full colored space with complete strangers. Replacing the Oculus Gallery with this crapy thing is so stupid that I have no word. If you want to improve your platform, just try first to equal the basic functionnalities of Windows 3.11
Using my quest to review my photos on google pictures was one of my primary uses of the device. Please bring that back
Since the oculus go, there have been only downgrades, please add this back or I will probably return my quest 2.

Go was better than quest, and quest better than quest 2, why keep wasting money and time on inferior products when we had the perfect one (oculus go)
I want Oculus Gallery back to watch my images on Dropbox.
Loosing the ability to stream DLNA to a native oculus app is heartbreaking! Plz fix
Get Oculus Gallery on the Quest 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe this hasn't more upvotes. The gallery app is a MUST HAVE for anyone consuming media in VR. This needs to be a native app. Sorry but the Oculus TV app doesn't cut it. No folder management is a PAIN with several files, and lack of dropbox/DLNA support is unacceptable.
I do VR180 (3d) videos and photos and right now the workflow just to be able to review them is long and painful:
- Connecting cam to PC
- Transfering media to PC
- Disconnecting cam
- Connecting Quest 2
- Putting on the Quest 2 to accept the file access from PC (this should remember setting from last time - other topic)
- Tranferring files to Quest 2
- Disconnecting Quest 2
- Open TV App
- Scroll to find the media
I mean... really? Why can't I just upload to Dropbox and view from there? Also, lack of sharing experience with friends. I should be able to invite a friend to a watch party to show them my videos and pictures. (I know, other topic as well)
The theater mode was my favorite use for my Oculus Go. Please add it to the Quest 2!
if the oculus gallery is not back on december 1, 2020 i will return my oculus quest 2

Oculus should bring back OCULUS GALLERY which sorts files according to directories and also support DLNA. I use my media server a lot on oculus but depending on only 3rd party apps for DLNA support makes it difficult for me to enjoy the oculus quest2. One of the reasons I bought the quest 2 was to stream my media with higher resolution but what good is quest 2 if I cant enjoy streaming my media?

I was SHOCKED there wasn’t a good native way to view 360 photos and videos on the quest 2. This was my whole initial reason for the purchase!

In common with everyone else here Oculus TV is totally unusable for viewing more than a few files.
additionally, I mainly use the Oculus for viewing and sharing 360 degree Architectural/set design renders through Dropbox with clients all over the world. This crucial and game-changing functionality is now unavailable.
Dropbox access via the Oculus browser app doesn't allow allow viewing of 360 images or videos, it offers 360 viewing options but the image just reverts to 2D projection.
I have reverted to using my Quest 1. Pathetic service and support.
Oculus, PLEASE replace or reinstate it for the Quest 2.

I just asked the same question via online chat with a customer support representative, and even he doesn't even know why either.
So... Oculus have decided (for whatever reason) to remove this app and no one including the customer support team even knows why! That's just great...!!!

I can't believe the Gallery app is missing on Quest 2!? Why!!??? More importantly... why fix it if it isn't broken?
I found this app really good for viewing and streaming my 3D movies from my Plex media server (via DLNA). The best thing was how media was conveniently grouped by folder name and showed the custom artwork that was saved with each movie MP4 file in Plex. But what I can't understand the most is why Oculus has simply removed it with no native app in its place to view and STREAM our personal media files.
I specifically spent the extra dollars to get the 256GB model for this exact purpose!!!
BRING OCULUS GALLERY BACK!!!
