Add QR code functionality to the Oculus Quest API
Allowing developers to include QR code functionality in their apps could reduce a lot of friction to getting location-based users into VR.
A few use cases are:
- Automatically login to a VR training course by scanning a QR code from a phone or laptop
- Start a VR game by scanning a QR code at a VR arcade
- Open WebVR apps by scanning a code or business card
These codes can by used as shortcuts to skip navigating menus or typing on cumbersome VR keyboards.
If developers get access to the result of a QR code scan (e.g. a string or url), it can open up a lot of quality of life improvements for end users.
Thank you for your consideration.

The HoloLens 2 has a great solution to activating QR code input.
It detects a QR code in the environment. There's a hovering outline and activation icon, so you can push it like a button, and it'll offer the option to open the web link. This is completely safe, and opt-in oriented. It would be even more amazing if the QR objects were tracked and something an app could simply use as a quick input alternative.

Would be amazing UX for WebXR...
See something cool on your computer/phone? Put on the Quest, scan and you're in!

It would also be perfect for joining WiFi network at nursing homes.
Many 70 year olds find Quest 2 easy -- except for entering a WiFi password.
WiFi QR codes can solve this problem -- since we have to mail them a Quest 2 headset. Nursing homes are like covid jails in this pandemic, and Quest 2 is a big lifesaver!!!
