Block a device from usage if lost or stolen
Unfortunately, my Quest was recently stolen :(.
It would be useful if there was a possibility to block a device from being used or registered by another user. The feature could be similar to Apple's 'report as lost' feature that blocks the device and displays a message. Another possibility (which is easier to implement) is that Oculus has a process that allows a user to block a device directly by contacting support - this is how Amazon solves it for their Kindle products.
Currently, Oculus requests for direct involvement from local law enforcement. This is cumbersome, and in many cases not even possible if local law enforcement is too busy, or does not speak English.

Hear hear.
As of 11.09.2021, this still is the case.
Facebook support refuses to assist, unless authorities are involved, which is a **** shame.
The legal hurdles will be gargantuan, I agree but given their status and wealth, the suggestion above should be considered.

Completly agree with this. My Quest 2 got stolen to.
I might even take it a step further, although this will never happend due to privacy:
Oculus makes FB loggin a requirement so they know who we are. Someone who is using a stolen device can be identified. That person did not legally bought the headset. That persons data should be shared with police for questening.I get that privacy of customers should be protected, not privacy of thieves.
