Allow the IPD size overlay to be disabled
Sometimes a slight movement of the head can be enough to move the lenses slightly, I am unsure of what causes this, could be the bridge of my nose pressing upward, could be a wobbly IPD slider, either way it becomes a source of annoyance when the IPD "toast" message keeps floating up onscreen during an experience.
Please, please, please give us an option to disable this.
Please, just give us the option to disable it. I have a big nose and 60 mm ipd so it moves ever so slightly when i turn quickly. Just imagine being concentrated, playing something, and suddenly a giant pop up that's way worse than a giant scratch or a lot of dead pixels, that just cover a lot of what you're supposed to see...
Yep please disable it
This is the biggest issue for me with the Quest. I have an IPD of 57mm so I need the lenses as close together as possible for it to look right, but if I have the headset positioned correctly so the picture is sharp, the lenses are resting a bit on my nose, and any small head movement causes the IPD display to come up and ruin immersion/cause me to lose games like beat Saber, etc because it obscures my vision at critical times. It's really infuriating that this isn't even an option because I bought the Quest on day 1 and loved it, but when this was added now every game and experience is ruined by constant IPD display popups. Please just give us the choice.
Ive been back and forth with Oculus support and not only do they deny the prob exists it seem they are very reluctant to give control of this feature to the customer for some reason. I explained three times to them that the bridge of my nose was knocking the lenses askew and they just kept insisting it was a software problem and telling me to factory reset lol Not the best customer service
Having an IPD display wasn’t necessary in my opinion, your eyes tell you where it should be set and you didn’t need any display showing the distance.
Have noticed it pop up a few times before today on games/experiences where there isn’t much head movement. Just played Thrill of the Fight and it was popping up all the time.
Just include an option to turn it off and all will be fine.
Stupid bug, i would return my quest to the store if it couldn´t be fixed.
Please, please, please fix this! It is so distracting and immersion breaking and even makes me mess up on games like beat saber. If it happened once or twice each play session I could deal with it, but it is literally happening around once per minute. It sometimes makes me not even want to play until this problem is fixed. How hard is it to add an option to toggle this feature on or off?
This needs to be resolved. Movement doesnt matter as being perfectly still causes this to jump around. I know the slider isnt moving since i have watched it go from 60 to 65 with no change to my visuals and that is pretty a large jump in IPD. My slider isnt loose at all.
I know they are looking into it since they have told me as much over email. While they believe it only affects small number, i hope they realize the seriousness of the issue and get it handled. I would rather not have the info than have it in my face constantly and not be accurate.
Oculus please stop ignoring this problem
