What is the purpose of creating/changing an avatar in the Quest headset using these instructions

[To create an avatar using your Oculus Quest, Go or Samsung Gear VR:

Put on your Oculus Go or Gear VR headset.

Select People from the navigation menu, then select Profile...[

if it shows up nowhere? Could there be a way to change the profile pic at least from the Android Oculus app? I really hate the lady bug ;-)... Thx.
