The Insta360 App should not have been rejected on the Oculus Quest.
I am a 360 and 180 video and photo enthusiast. I recently purchased an Insta360 Evo camera and was very disappointed to find that the Insta360 App is not available on the Oculus Quest, but it is available on the Oculus Go.
The Insta360 App allows photos and videos to be viewed and uploaded wirelessly between camera and the Oculus Go headset.
See the following in depth YouTube video to see this...
This App gives immediately feedback on what you have photographed.
I wrote to Insta360 and they told me that Oculus declined to give permission for the App to be in the Quest App Store. They hinted that this is on the grounds that the Go is more for media consumption and the Quest is about gaming.
I was a Go owner but I upgraded to the Quest and as a result of this I am now disappointed.
So Oculus please reconsider your policy for photography and video on the Quest.

Hi, can you let us know when this app will be available for Quest, please?
It’s a shame, that we have to beg for an app, that’s already existing.
Please release the Insta-App as soon as possible.
We are all trying to promote VR and Quest device. But when we hit a road block like this it does not help!!!
There is no reason to block such app. The owner of the evo camera just want to check footage on a wonderful device without the trouble of other pc mumbo jumbo. PLEASE HELP the VR180 / 360 community by allowing this APP!!
Please Insta Evo App
pls add the insta 360 vr app into the quest ecosystem..this will help definitely help to promote this platform more
I fully agree. Such a waste. The Quest could be such a wonderful machine with a broader focus than games know. So, please Oculus, let us have the Insta 360 VR app!!!
And while you are at it, why not throw in Google Earth VR too. I search for it regularly hoping that it will eventually show up.
I bought an Insta360 Evo based on using it with my quest. insta360 is a standout brand in the 360/vr industry and their products provide access for mainstream consumers to VR. Whatever reasons that the app was rejected should be worked through.

Rejecting this app for Quest seems dumb. Perhaps because Quest is getting Go emulation at some point?

OP, there's a growing community supporting SideQuest, especially from developers whose apps are built but not supported in the Oculus Quest store. Perhaps your contact at Insta360 can release the APK to be sideloaded?

Oculus needs to find a way to allow this, charge us $10 for the app and split money with insta360. I specifically bought a 360 3d camera for my quest! Please allow this or something compatible!

Agree with all the comments We know the quest is more game orientated than the Go but it would be ridiculous not to have the insta 360 app in the store

Never had a Go, now I have a Quest. I am sure this will get in when "Go emulation" comes, but please just put it in the store anyway?

Well that is a bummer, I just bought the Insta360 evo to view on my Quest. Please Oculus allow the Insta360 app on the Quest. Pretty please with sugar on top.
I would also like to see the Insta360 app added to the Quest. Please Oculus approve this app for the Quest!
Hey Oculus, please approve the already existing Insta360 VR app. Already bought teh Rift S and the Quest and lots of apps but really would LOVE to use the Quest to view my EVO Cam pictures on their app.
The Quest should NOT only be for games... there are so many great creative things you can do with it...
It is SO TOTALLY Lame that the Go can do something the Quest can't. Namely, watch Insta360 videos.
I guess that makes the Go a better deal, since its cheaper and can run more free software!... Hummmm.
EPIC FAIL on the part of Oculus!!
I'd buy the quest if I could use it with my evo. Come on!
whats the deal oculus? In addition I would like to use the quest as a realtime 3d viewer as I shoot footage on the insta360 evo.
I too, have an Oculus Quest and want to use it with Insta360 VR app. Please consider.
