The Insta360 App should not have been rejected on the Oculus Quest.
I am a 360 and 180 video and photo enthusiast. I recently purchased an Insta360 Evo camera and was very disappointed to find that the Insta360 App is not available on the Oculus Quest, but it is available on the Oculus Go.
The Insta360 App allows photos and videos to be viewed and uploaded wirelessly between camera and the Oculus Go headset.
See the following in depth YouTube video to see this...
This App gives immediately feedback on what you have photographed.
I wrote to Insta360 and they told me that Oculus declined to give permission for the App to be in the Quest App Store. They hinted that this is on the grounds that the Go is more for media consumption and the Quest is about gaming.
I was a Go owner but I upgraded to the Quest and as a result of this I am now disappointed.
So Oculus please reconsider your policy for photography and video on the Quest.
Oculus’ App curation policies are appraised here...
Yeah, I've send the Quest back because of this. It's so stupid. They need all the apps they can get to be fair, there isn't that much good on the store. Half of the VR stuff isn't actually VR its just 2D spherical rubbish. They should be encouraging people making real vr video. Never mind.
Yes DISAPPOINTED HERE as well - there should be a way to do this, I just bought my Quest - and been wanting to see all my previous ONE X videos on this... this is ridiculous! And the Zuckerberg says that he's trying to build a platform that grows? how is that growth? That's a shitty apple like attitude.

C'mon man, approve the Insta360 App on Quest asap please. Doing so wll help VR by encouraging more people to start shooting & sharing VR180. What were you thinking when you rejected it?

What were you thinking when you rejected it? And don't make us mess with a sideload either, OK?
Please get this approved.
What a shame! Come on Oculus. We can put more VR content on your precious Facebook if you let us preview what the camera is seeing. Now, they release Go apps for the Quest, but I don't see this one on the list...
I get the whole modding thing, but please give us the opportunity to see our videos and pictures again with this app! Big point for me why I purchased this device, now that you did this the whole device loses a big selling point to the whole 3D / 360 community!

I am a big fan of 180 3D and 360 videos. When I saw than Oculus GO can play feed from Insta 360 EVO I bought 128Gb Oculus Quest to have a great experience. But what a disappointment? PLEASE make all possible to to play my home 3D videos from Insta 360 EVO in Oculus Quest!!!!

Please support insta 360 evo app on the quest!

This was a shock to realize my upgraded device doesn’t do simple things like connect to my 360 camera.

Can't Evo give us an update on this, or better still, an APK to side load?

I would also like to see the Insta360 app added to the Quest. Please approve this app for the Quest!
I just found out the hard way, bought thw quest mainly for the insta360 and presumed it was a given that the app would available for it seeing how it was on the go!
I am going to sell the quest now and am sure to tell all my mates not to get one.
If oculus want to sell more units by pleasing its customers, this is how not to do it!!!
Bitte fügen Sie das App Insta360 für die Quest hinzu. Danke

Oculus, this makes no sense and it is upsetting because it looks like this was done for obscure and sleazy business reasons rather than technological ones!

Has to be added! I don't see a reason to not connect these two cool gadets!!! It would make things so much easier especially if you want to check your results or show them when you don't have a PC!
Please add this ASAP and stop messing about

There rejection based on the fact that the Quest is meant for games makes no sense when you consider the Quest is going to get Go emulation so week run ask the Go apps anyway.
But native apps are generally superior. Do stop playing politics and approve this app.
yes I agree insta 360 it should be on quest also its an upgrade from go so why deny it
Mark, you are 100% correct.
And, @Oculus, why the fcuk are we having to 'beg' for this
