The Insta360 App should not have been rejected on the Oculus Quest.
I am a 360 and 180 video and photo enthusiast. I recently purchased an Insta360 Evo camera and was very disappointed to find that the Insta360 App is not available on the Oculus Quest, but it is available on the Oculus Go.
The Insta360 App allows photos and videos to be viewed and uploaded wirelessly between camera and the Oculus Go headset.
See the following in depth YouTube video to see this...
This App gives immediately feedback on what you have photographed.
I wrote to Insta360 and they told me that Oculus declined to give permission for the App to be in the Quest App Store. They hinted that this is on the grounds that the Go is more for media consumption and the Quest is about gaming.
I was a Go owner but I upgraded to the Quest and as a result of this I am now disappointed.
So Oculus please reconsider your policy for photography and video on the Quest.
Oculus’ App curation policies are appraised here...

I'm an Insta360 one R and Oculus Go and Quest 2 owner and I would also request that you allow the Insta360 app. These devices were made for each other why not make them as easy as possible to use together.

Yeah, come on. Insta360 plus the Quest 2 is the way forward. Q2 is not just a gaming device, think of the virtual office, or other media apps you already have. Media creation / consumption is so part of the VR movement. +1 for this being opened up... don’t be all restrictive like Apple, be cool instead 🤷🏼♂️

Please allow the Insta360 VR app to work on the Oculus Quest 2.

If that is the real reason, it stinks. We want to have Insta360 EVO software run on the Quest! Right now!

As the go is not supported by Oculus anymore they need to get this issue resolved

Actually I have Insta360VR running on my oculus quest very smootly and it's awesome!
It connects via wify to insta360 one x to play recorded videos directly and even downloads them locally on the Quest. You have just to enable developer mode and sideload insta360VR.apk.
Just search for "NO GO REQUIRED! Downloading Oculus Go APKs DIRECTLY to your PC (without an Oculus Go)" on youtube. Watch all of the vid (give credit to this guy!) but in the end just look into the comments, order them by date and look for the comment from Bob (around early march 2020) and youl'll find that Open Pc reviews kindly answered him with the direct link to download the apk.
Have fun! One X + Oculus Quest are TOP! -

Prevents me upgrading to the Quest. With the demise of the Go this becomes even more essential

I already think the games are stupid for the Oculous, to **** cartoonish for me, I want realism and immersion. The least you oculous can do is accept this app. I'm sure more people would vote If they knew about this petition.

I own two Oculus quest and I want to watch my 3d videos recorded on Insta 360 OneX . Stop preconditioning Oculus for games only. This is the best standalone VR available and should be able to do what the user wants and not what Facebook says. This is applicable for Google Earth VR, Insta360 app, Gala, etc
