Ability to Cast unknown sources
Casting everything in the headset is crucial for guiding and sharing experiences in VR. Please support casting projects from unknown sources. This is helpful for devs, tinkerers, and folks who want to experiment with VR but aren't ready or don't want to monetize their projects and submit to the Oculus Store.

I can cast unknown sources without a problem. Well that's not totally true, it freezes a lot, and you have to restart the cast, but generally it works.
Please fix the **** red dot on casting - we should have option in VR for red dot on or off.

For us streaming unknown sources is crucial for getting new customers to buy the oculus quest for using our products.
Just got the quest. However casting makes audience nauseated because it is too ZOOMED in and therefore too abrupt. Can you increase field of view(zoom out). Thx.
I'am using Unity and use Oculus SDK ver. 1.3.9 from assetstore unity and tried build apk from sample scene from oculus.
But, this still can't cast.
Is there any special settings that I missed?

Must-have for developers as well as in the areas of education and training. There is really no reason to restrict casting.
I vote no, this is just another breaking point that customer service is going to get yelled at for when it does not work.

100% agree. Wish we could do this.
It Oculus wants to push forward broad adoption of mobile VR development this is one of the little things that would have a huge positive impact.

It would also make sense to allow the user to take screenshots from within any app there using. Currently, the user is forced to exit whatever application they are running and navigate to the home screen in order to set up screenshots.
At the *very* least it needs to be allowed in dev mode.
This is needed
Vital feature for education/training simulations. Current requires the use of unofficial third-party and sub-optimal screen casting solutions.
It's just unbelievable this must-have feature isn't already active...
