Quest without VD is nothing.

I bought the Quest 2 essentially because it is either a standalone and a PCVR capable device with no cables.
It's the real killer feature, and the guy that developed it clearly showed that it is technically possible.
This is the vr future, and I don't want to loose this feature. -

This is the KEY FEATURE that would drive so many people to Oculus Quest. We know it is possible and the only thing holding VR back right now is
1. Refresh rate below 100hz
2. The cableBoth can be fixed for Quest 2 and would really push the Quest 2 into the realm of the best VR Headsets ever made

Yeah, this one really needs to happen.
I reeeally want to be able to use my Quest 2 with my PC VR games without any wires.

Stop being obstructionist. You can afford to cooperate with Steam and other sources like everyone obviously wants. Be the one bright spot in this God-forsaken year and start making VR fun instead of a drag (Facebook logins, PCVR wires, political BS, etc). It would make your platform irresistible and be good for everyone involved. A win-win. Or keep being the Grinch.

VR Desktop has managed to build an amazing wireless casting system that can even run oculus and steam games and it was developed by just one person. How are you not hiring him and implementing this to the quest? ITS A MUST!

very happy with my Rift S - BUT i would also like to purchase Quest 128GB for wireless gaming (& to show friends modern 2020 VR)...
PCVR streaming would be very much appreciated & will purchase Virtual Desktop (one of the popular Oculus Quest apps right now) & am annoyed that Virtual Desktop with SideQuest solution is all that is available to achieve this now...
will also test Oculus Link - but that is tethered - defeats the wireless solution...
the Quest with 'official' PCVR streaming would fill an obvious 'gap' in the VR market that now exists...
many Quest users have wifi setups & the technical knowledge that would suit this purpose - while we wait for Quest 2.

Official PCVR streaming via a propietary 5 GHz device coupled with Oculus Home would offer a smoother experience than current 3rd party solutions. Oculus Link is great, but the tether eliminates one of the biggest advantages of the Quest - wireless freedom.

Can we close this?

Please add this feature! I think it would be a benefit to your users who are supporting you by buying into Oculus products! Some already have VR games in their steamvr library and would be great to have access to these with the Oculus Quest on something that is supported and native instead of having to have a wire attached! The Oculus Link is a step forward, but you are tied down with a wire again! Streaming works as I have seen and would love to see that route supported!

I sold my Rift and bought a Quest.
I just tried ALVR and it is fantastic. I din't see any artifacts while playing. The quality is a bit lower. But it doesn't bother me. This would be amazing if the Quest could do this without a 3rd party app. I'm thinking of using Revive to regain access my Rift library. I really don't want to buy more games from SteamVR.Not adding streaming to the Quest will cause some people to buy games from Steam.

I would love this also. I know oculus link is coming out but what is more important to me (not crazy graphics) is to be able to stream my PCVR games anywhere in my house. When I invite people over for a party, it's not fun to have everyone stuck in my computer room when we can play high quality games in my living room instead. If you connect your computer via an ethernet cord and have a 5ghz wifi, the quality would be good enough. This feature would actually make me want to buy more oculus rift games so I can easily share it with my friends since I will not buy oculus rift games just to be sitting in my computer room and play by myself while real life passes me by.
In regards to people using steamVR instead of oculus rift store if you allow this feature. Currently there is already a way to stream PCVR to oculus quest but only with steamVR. How I see is if you do not support this same feature with oculus rift store/oculus link, then you are handing this part of the market to steamVR already.

Will never happen.
PCVR streaming quality is mediocre even under perfect circumstances (latency & ugly video compression artifacts).
It would open the possibility to use SteamVR - which is a direct competitor. Which would funnel a lot of $$$ to Valve instead to Oculus. From a business standpoint it would be dumb to open your platform to others by official means. -

Just wants Oculus app on PC to recognize Quest as Quest and stream Rift content to Quest. No need the whole Desktop streaming.

I have quite the collection of Oculus Store and SteamVR games. I sold my Oculus Rift for an Oculus Quest because I love standalone VR. However, it would be great if I could experience PCVR through streaming or high-bandwidth USB-C.

Virtual Desktop could already do that... then oculus banned the feature. Check https://oculus.uservoice.com/forums/921937-oculus-quest/suggestions/37885843-virtual-desktop-with-steam-vr-support
