Customizable home space
I'd like the ability to customize the home environment in Quest, personalizing it to my tastes.
Best case scenario, I'd like to see the same home functionality seen on Rift, possibly with cross compatibility.
If that's not technically possible though, then perhaps a less complex environment, or perhaps predefined 'skins' developed by the UX team.

Thanks to everyone who has voted for this idea! As part of a previous software update, we added the Environments setting to give you more control over your Home space. You can view and change your environment from your Settings panel. To do this point at your bottom toolbar and select Settings > See all > Virtual Environments. Then point and choose the environment that you want to apply. This feature is now available to all users.
As both the initial idea and the comments speak to a functionality request that goes beyond this addition (things like decorating your space with objects, being able to move around the space, etc.), we are marking this idea as started to leave it open for voting rather than closing it as complete. We hope you are enjoying the new environment options we have added!

I'd really like to see the Rift 2.0 home abilities in Quest 2. It made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. Teleportation and total customization/interaction.

Why has this not been updated since Feb? Being unable to move or interact with the home environment makes it pointless. Might as well just have a home screen with icons per Android.

You guys need to make a home screen/virtual environment that allows players to interact with it like mini games read books watch tv move around the home screen invite players into it so you guys can just chill this would be so much more immersive for the players

Would love to be able to interact with objects, maybe play some simple indoor games in the home environment. Even invite a friend to your space.

There should be a home workshop so people can create cool stuff

Looking at this comment section, it seems like people really want a Rift Core 2.0 Home-like experience as their home screen. I also think that would be cool: more customization, more freedom, more functionality and sociality in our home environment! And I agree totally. If somebody could optimize the existing Rift Core 2.0 Home for the Quest 2, that would be the ultimate achievement.

I would like to add my voice to this as well. I think teleportation in Home Environments would be welcome, as this would give the ability sit in a (real) chair and use the Oculus Browser from fresh perspectives. The Home Environments provided are high quality!
Additionally, though, it would be nice if the people could develop custom home environments for the Oculus Store ($2.99?). This would add more fun to a basic functionality, and provide money to people developing good environments. I believe there is enough of a community behind this.

The new environments are awesome - however, the screen is WAY TOO CLOSE! Please Move the screen back!! (or give us the option to move it back and enlarge it)
This change in the screen position has turned what was an enjoyable experience into something claustrophobic and stressful. I am unable to even see the entire screen without turning my head - where I used to be able to just shift my eyes.
This makes me not even want to use my quest :(

This one I do not want. I hate the clunky **** that is the new Oculus Rift menu. I wish they'd actually go back to the original simpler one for the most part (other than pretty much the ability to bring it up anytime, which isn't so much part of the Home/menu design as a feature of the VR interface), much like they have on Quest and that you're asking to change ironically. I don't want to clumsily try to interact with menus with my hands or have to drag window around to a distance that's comfortable. The current menu is superior for this kind of stuff and that's how I'd like it to stay. All Oculus needs to do is add a few more rooms to choose from and sorted imo (ones that are up to the high standard of the current rooms they've specifically created).

not sure they understood, aren'T VR suppose to open door to mind bending visual and magical stuff, breaking reality scene we cannot see in real life, where are the flying rainbow unicorn, the dragons, the mecha robots, big magical fish, boats, ocean, magic , colors, kiddiness, for me this is what VR is about exploring the imagination and it would be awesome if our home space represented that.

Several people in the comments have mentioned achievements to get items for customization. You could earn Oculus Credits for things like playing games, watching videos, doing experiences, or even time. You could then use the credits in a Virtual Environment Store to get the things you would like to add to your space.
Or create an experience that lets you build a Virtual Environment and when completed you can add that as a choice on the Virtual Environment menu.
Being able to teleport around the environment would be a great feature too.

Virtual environment is now completely gone ever since this posting was made yesterday. Any ideas on what the problem is? I've tried restarting multiple times to see if an update is pushed through but so far nothing.

So what going on is, we're asking for core 2.0 and you say be happy with what we have because it's the best you're going to give us. Is this what you're saying?
