Remove prompt in headset for casting
Most of the times when I want to cast from my Quest to my phone, it is to supervise the VR experience of someone with little VR experience.
Having the prompt inside the VR headset to accept the casting becomes tricky with inexperienced users, who usually don't understand how to navigate the UI or aren't fully spatially aware -- so while they're struggling, I can't see what they see.
The phone I'm casting to is already logged into my account, why is this permission step needed? Or possibly have a setting to disable or always accept the casting via a setting in the headset.

Hey everyone! As noted by a few comments below, this option was added as part of a previous software update. When you initiate casting, you will receive a pop up confirmation in VR. However, there is a option within this pop up that allows you to opt out of this notification in the future. Simply tick that box and accept the casting request. If you do this, you should not receive this confirmation dialog in future casting sessions.
Additionally, as part of the most recent v10 software update, you can now initiate casting from within VR rather than starting the casting session from your phone. While in VR, head to Sharing > Cast on the universal menu bar and select your desired device form the list. We hope this makes the casting experience easier for everyone!

So to everyone having the issue of selecting the pop up box and then no longer being able to cast, I have a solution.
What worked for me was deleting the oculus app from my phone. Factory reseting the oculus headset, and then downloading the app via the link the headset sends to your email when you try to cast from within the headsets menu. Main menu>sharing>casting>cast to app>next>send
I’m not even sure my factory rest worked properly. It is possible that you only need to delete and download the app via the link.

I've seen a few people say it but there has been no answer, is there a way to get the dialogue box back after turning it off? The only way to change a setting shouldn't be on something that isn't always accessible, especially when its a setting that gets rid of the way to access it :/

I am having the same problem as the other comments. I ticked the box then allowed casting but now it seems to have set the default to deny with no confirmation box or way to over-ride or reset the setting.

Please can we have the option of re-enabling this option. Effectively clearing the flag so that prompts are back.

Howdy! So the exact thread I was looking for but I need for context.
Now I’ve turned off the notification for casting, but I don’t think I’ve confirmed the default correctly (I think it’s “reject” now) - result I can’t seem to find how to redo that notification as I can’t cast from the phone now....
Any help please!

I’m the same boat as those below. I turned off the notifications so they would automatically be accepted. Instead they are automatically denied with no way to revert to the previous state. Please tell me how to make this functional again.

After I checked that checkbox casting requests from app are always denied (and no popup appears inside headset)

Good afternoon. I am having the same issue as the anonymous person above. I have checked the box so I do not need to ask again but it is now saying accept on the oculus quest and then times out.

Mr Jimmy sir, I opted out of the notification, but now when I try to cast, it says I need to accept the request on the quest, but because I opted out of that there is no pop up

How do I turn them back on after I have turned them off

I have tried doing it both ways and neither works. When I do it from the app that is already connected to the headset it tells me to accept it in the headset but no pop up happens and then it just says it's been denied.
When I try to do it from the headset no options of what to cast to pops up.

Casting should be able to be initiated from the headset too. There is even an option there in the menu but it tells you to use a phone.

I think you can already do this. At least I don’t have that issue anymore. I believe it’s on the developer settings, or simply in settings. Check those settings.

If you have two different quests on the same account, how do you tell the two quests apart when making a casting request?

Just check the box on the casting dialogue
