Add option to remove red dot when casting to phone/other device
One of the main use cases for the casting feature is to have someone unfamiliar with the Quest using it and someone else watching what they are doing and helping them. However, turning on casting currently adds an annoying red dot that detracts from the experience of the person using the headset. Please add an option to remove it.
As always, thanks to everyone who voted for this idea! I’m pleased to announce that a new option to disable the red dot indicator has been added with the v17 Quest software update! Simply head to the Settings > Device menu and look for the “Video Capture Indicator” feature. Toggling this off will make it so the red dot no longer appears within the headset when casting, recording, or livestreaming. I'm a UX researcher, so being able to record users' perspective and play it back later without the red dot would be massively useful. It interferes with users' presence ratings

The red dot is a huge fail. Listen to us and put a fix into the next update. The is really some amateur **** right here.

Another vote for making this an option which can be disabled. We thought we had broken our device somehow.

Just learned this is a "feature." Thought I had some kind of dead pixel, Quest support thought so too, twice. Swapped two heatsets, started over with games/saves/scores twice.
Yes please remove. I wanted to show off and play this with that realistic fishing game. I tested it out then saw that horrible immersion killing red dot.
yes erease the red dot is not good

I have a Quest and a PSVR - when friends are over, we play the PSVR simply because of the laughably awkward and annoying red dot in my face.

It’s annoying as **** remove it without option
I thought I'd broken the screen!
Either make the red dot optional or replace with a casting icon or something that looks less like DEAD pixels!
Another vote for giving us the option here.

I really dislike the red dot when casting recording or streaming to Facebook it is so frustrating and off-putting and I would love to see a feature where it could be turned on or off at the user's discretion
Casting with REDDot is horrible. It can be for Recording but for Casting its bad bad
svp enleve le point rouge , remove the red dot

I have a Chromecast gen 1 and was really happy about the v10 update. Unfortunately the red dot kills it so I'm still having to use scrcpy which is a pain to get running every time. Please let us disable the red dot.
It's as if the people developing the oculus don't actually test things or think about their users. Why would you put an annoying red dot on the screen to ruin the immersion? LET US DISABLE IT!

Very annoying love quest but need to remove dot would be so much better

Please upvote! This is driving me crazy! At least add the OPTION to disable the red dot. I also don't need a black box covering part of the screen telling me I'm getting a casting request. I made the request!

I get this with recording but with casting its just annoying.
The red dot take the virtual experience away, I tend to notice the red dot more than the game. If not removed will feel like a waste...
