More guardian settings
I wish we had more guardian options, e.g. opacity level, only the line/border on the floor (without the surrounding grid), distance threshold/tolerance settings for grid/border activation and a radius setting for the stationary circle (its a little bit too narrow by default).
My play space is big enough to move a few steps in every direction, but when swinging in beat saber or point my arms forward in space pirate Trainer the guardian comes up to eagerly.
Thanks for consideration!
You guys rock btw :)
Hi all! Thanks for submitting and voting for this idea.
As part of the build 7.0 update that is rolling out this week, we’ve improved the overall performance of Guardian and added the following new features:
- If your Guardian boundaries are too sensitive, you can adjust them from the Guardian settings page.
- If you need to adjust your floor height, you no longer have to reset your Guardian. Instead, you can make adjustments right from your Guardian settings page.
- You can now set multiple Guardians in the same room and switch between them.
Since this idea is a bit more expansive in terms of what is being asked for, we’re going to leave this open for voting for now. We hope you enjoy the new Guardian settings that have been added in the meantime!

This still needs adding onto, the options on Rift S were much better where you can just have the floor outline and not have the guardian walls visible. We need this option back as any sort of guardian wall ruins the immersion.

I can't see people in my play area, and i keep punching walls in stationary mode. Will u pls fix that

To me, the most important part of this uservoice, is the ability to have guardian only show the outline on the floor, without displaying the walls.
Coming from the Rift CV1, i miss this option a lot.
Please bring this to the Quest and Quest 2

As a new quest 2 user, this is an absolutely awesome idea, i use my whole play area in house flipper VR and its great but im not moving fast and the grid is always they're obstructing my view, warning me too early - cause its so dense, also if i wanna sit down on my bed - im on the border, so the grid lights up (could we get more colors, less obnoxious thank you) - its annoying cause its blocking youtube videos and my open floating windows around me - cause i make them house size in front of me - literally only cause its awesome ! - on that note, can we please angle floating windows when they're far away too and get more than 4m distance. thank you very much. (i dont bother making a ticket hehe, i hope it gets seen)

As a game designer I wish the Guardian wouldn't be limited to 25x25 feet. Expanding the guardian limit would open countless opportunities for the new games.

I would like to see a pass through view through the hand controller circles when the hand controller breaches the guardian boundary. this would allow you to peek out to the room through these tunnels, currently the pass through only displays if your headset fully breaches the boundary and you also lose your view of the game space. related to that, when outside the guardian space perhaps a semi transparent reverse view of the space could be displayed on the outside of the guardian walls?

The problem with 25x25 ft is that you can't use it's full potential because the 25x25 grid (to draw the guardian on) is randomly rotated. even if you have a 10x10m space available you always loose the corners.
Please let us change the orientation of the floor grid OR point it to forward direction on reset, Thx! -

25 x 25 is not nearly enough. I have a 50 x 60 space I can use ! While I understand it is possible to turn off guardian, I don't want to go that route if possible. If there is a way to expand beyond the 25 x 25 (even experimental where you have to agree to a waiver) I'd be willing to test it out!

I want to be able to turn off the guardian for a stationary scale when I’m sitting down and know I won’t hit anything, but keep it on for roomscale when I’m standing up.
I want the ceiling to be identified.
I want to be able to identify the area over a table as space that I can swing.

Seems to be only since the recent update but I can't get rid of the stationary guardian floor circle when sitting. This gets in the way when viewing media. Also the stationary boundary seems much smaller. I've figured that I can switch off altogether but my controllers then lose their spatial calibration and position sensing. Why can't we have the option to switch off the stationary floor boundary when seated?

on my htc vive i have the guardian grid visible at all times, but only on the floor.
that actually works well enough and doesnt interrupt gameplay.
id love to be able to do this on my quest as well... the walls only appear when im right in front of them, when its sometimes too late to slow down and i hit the wall anyways. and if i set the guardian wall up further away from the wall, then my playspace becomes tiny and the guardian keeps popping into view even though i actually have enough space... annoying... -

Please add an always visible center marker. In Steam VR, the center marker is always on for me and I miss it painfully when I work with my Quest.

It would be great when drawing the guardian bounds you could subtract areas as well. At the moment you can only add more boundary area when you draw it in. Maybe if you go over the same area it subtracts that part? or when holding in the side trigger it turns into an eraser to subtract?

I'm supporting this Idea. I hate, that the guardian system is so stupid in the Quest. Why can't i just remove the guardian walls like in the oculus rift?, it was so good back then. Please change this Oculus.

Please also add a sitting mode. With Oculus Link you can not play steated games in steam like "Witching Tower", "Twighlight Path", "The Talos Principle" and "Transpose" for example. It is not possible to play it on a chair. I hate standing for hours.

Nothing mentionned in the build 7.0 is that great of a solution, really.
We need a way to have a floor guardian only, and a way to have it permanently displayed.Exactly like the one we have when we're in the Quest Home.

As a furniture puncher I would like to configure my guardian in a way that pass through pops up if one of my CONTROLLERS leaves the safety zone.
I punched already behind my guardian in a furniture, hoping that there is nothing.
Currently pass through only pops up if my HEAD leaves the safety zone.

I always find myself worried about where my walls would be. I'd like to know it without actually needing to get close to one.
Simply add an optional, always visible, center marker to the ground.Thanks.

I'd really like to be able to increase the radius of the stationary circle (that, or be allowed to disable it entirely for stationary experiences). The boundary comes up way too easily while I'm staying in my seat, even leaning back sometimes sticks my head through the boundary. I don't want to change the sensitivity because it's fine the way it is for when I go roomscale.

I'd really like an option to have the border outline of the guardian permanently shown on the floor similar to how The Thrill of the Fight and Ninja Legends do it. This would allow more peace of mind and the ability to quickly and easily correct yourself before you reach the edges of your play space.
