  1. Add 2-person CAST mode where the HUD controls only appear on the CAST screen and are stationary

    I often need to operate the controllers while my 93 yr old mother just "enjoys the show" - for example when watching 3D videos.
    The problem is that its almost impossible to operate the HUD controls because the headset wearer is constantly looking around and thus the HUD moves accordingly. The special CAST mode I propose has all the oculus HUD ( and APP HUD ) controls appear ONLY on the CAST screen ( until cast is turned off ) and has all the HUD buttons etc appear fixed in place so that one can operate the buttons easily.

  3. Passthrough Mode with Guardian Turned Off

    Like many developers, using the guardian can be cumbersome when switching between my desk and headset, so i utilize the option that lets you turn the guardian off. However, that seems to disable the passthrough mode, either double tap or the passthrough environment. Passthrough should be able to be turned on with the guardian turned off, because then instead of being totally blind, theres almost a middle-ground.

  4. Passthrough Window

    Add a feature that would allow the user to display a small window into the real world while playing a game or watching a video. The window would remain in a fixed location on the user’s screen and the size/location of the window could be customizable. The double-tap Passthrough shortcut is nice but requires you to temporarily exit your game or video. This window could be appear/disappear with the simple click of a button or with voice commands. It would be beneficial if you’re eating, hanging out with friends, or just want to see your surroundings during an activity.

  5. Mic Recording

    Allow the option for your mic to be recorded when you are recording. Currently you can you only record the audio form the quest and not your mic. An option to turn it off and on would be very beneficial and would help in creating video content using the quest!

  6. Select left/right eye for video recording

    The ability to record, and cast from the headset, without any other technology needed is great. But that the camera is locked to the left eye, aren't.
    I've seen many people complaining about how records, in shooting games, aren't working, since they aim with the right eye. This though, is only one, minor issues.
    I have - and many others have too - an eye illness. I have strabismus (also know as a lazy eye), but that is only on example. This causes the muscles in my left eye, sliding out to the side. That means I'm right eye dominate,…

  7. Allow users to move around the home environment

    The default home environments are beautiful, but feel so limited as we are unable to use our controllers to sit or stand wherever we please. Please take inspiration from Alcove's incredible customizable apartment and allow us to move around the home environment!

  8. Perminently delete games from Library

    There’s a plethora of reasons to implement this feature but personally I find that having games that I’m never going to play or get the achievements for annoying. It prevents my library from feeling clean and is irritating to see games I’m not going to play with a 0% on the achievements board.

  9. Remove fading to white of interface/menus when getting close

    I am visually impaired (severally near sighted), but prior to quest v34 was able to get around menu navigation issues by just getting up close to the text.

    In v34 for some reason, menus and panels will fade to white when I get to close to them. This makes reading small text in menus (despite maximizing text size) extremely, unnecessarily strenuous.

    Being able to just walk up to a menu, close enough to a few inches in front, was one of the strong points for me, please bring it back.

  10. Guest accounts to share games /apps.

    Allow purchases via the guest account to allow for shared play with other accounts and admin.

    An issue currently encountered. Have purchased beat sabre via non admin account. No one else can play this except for the account who purchased it. However all games purchased through the admin account, all users can play these.
    Due to this, have had to purchase a game twice.

  11. Do NOT require a Facebook account!

    Have made several attempts to create an account for my son who is f age according to the community standards using fresh emails and phone number. They get blocked, appealed, then irrevocably, permanently disabled before the account can ever be logged into or used. This has made the Oculus a $300 brick and the box hasn't even been opened (still sealed in plastic).

  12. DEMENTIA , SPECIAL NEEDS ETC- desperate need to be able to control the Oculus for those who can’t

    Hi everyone at Oculus/Meta. Basically, my mum has dementia and I’ve bought a Quest 2 for her, I have found it’s like a ray of sunshine as her current world is very depressing as she’s not able to go out and has nothing essentially to look forward to of a day. If I and others were able to operate the headset for the user (my mum in my case) via a smart phone or tablet or the existing Oculus controllers in another way - a mirror etc it would be a revelation as she just can’t coordinate or understand what…

  13. More guardian settings

    I wish we had more guardian options, e.g. opacity level, only the line/border on the floor (without the surrounding grid), distance threshold/tolerance settings for grid/border activation and a radius setting for the stationary circle (its a little bit too narrow by default).

    My play space is big enough to move a few steps in every direction, but when swinging in beat saber or point my arms forward in space pirate Trainer the guardian comes up to eagerly.

    Hi all! Thanks for submitting and voting for this idea.

    As part of the build 7.0 update that is rolling out this week, we’ve improved the overall performance of Guardian and added the following new features:

    - If your Guardian boundaries are too sensitive, you can adjust them from the Guardian settings page.
    - If you need to adjust your floor height, you no longer have to reset your Guardian. Instead, you can make adjustments right from your Guardian settings page.
    - You can now set multiple Guardians in the same room and switch between them.

    Since this idea is a bit more expansive in terms of what is being asked for, we’re going to leave this open for voting for now. We hope you enjoy the new Guardian settings that have been added in the meantime!

  14. Customizable home space

    I'd like the ability to customize the home environment in Quest, personalizing it to my tastes.

    Best case scenario, I'd like to see the same home functionality seen on Rift, possibly with cross compatibility.

    If that's not technically possible though, then perhaps a less complex environment, or perhaps predefined 'skins' developed by the UX team.

    Thanks to everyone who has voted for this idea! As part of a previous software update, we added the Environments setting to give you more control over your Home space. You can view and change your environment from your Settings panel. To do this point at your bottom toolbar and select Settings > See all > Virtual Environments. Then point and choose the environment that you want to apply. This feature is now available to all users.

    As both the initial idea and the comments speak to a functionality request that goes beyond this addition (things like decorating your space with objects, being able to move around the space, etc.), we are marking this idea as started to leave it open for voting rather than closing it as complete. We hope you are enjoying the new environment options we have added!

  15. Prompt to backup game local data before uninstalling app

    Provide adequate options for users to backup app data before uninstalling the app. Sometimes apps need to be uninstalled and reinstalled due to a troubleshooting error. Oculus Quest needs to provide a way to do this without having to use a separate computer to manually back up the game file and hunt for it in the file directory. Users should be notified and informed that their app local data will be lost permanently if the app is uninstalled. Currently there are no best practices or standards for app developers to inform their users of this other than some afterthought declared…

  16. Transform the Video/ Photo Capturing Features Please.

    -Ability to quickly access the video/picture capturing feature without disrupting gameplay. This will help capture specific moments rapidly.

    -Allow option to record your own voice while video recording.

    -PLEASE FIX: bug / error related to audio not being synced with video capturing. This happens often when you are navigating through menus/ loading screens. If you go through a loading screen, then the audio will be out of sync with the video recording.

    -Option to have a feature that will record the last 15s, 30s, 1min, 3min, 5min, 10min, 15min of gameplay.

  17. Make the sit down guardian system adjustable in size

    It would be nice if I could make the guardian barrier bigger while playing seated games. If I’m sitting in the middle of a room in a rotating chair I’m capable of fully extending my arms without hitting anything, but the guardian system is often activated. If I set the guardian to roomscale, then sitting doesn’t work well for some games as they now require me to stand and move around more.

  18. Have an option to use the old boundry warning system for stationary boundry

    The new, updated stationary guardian is nice, but the boundary no longer alerts you when your controllers get too close to it by showing a localized mesh near and around the controllers only. This is going to cause myself issues as my play space is very limited and I have walls at my back and to my right.(I also dont understand why its size was increased but this isnt as big an issue as the main point) I tried the drawn boundary but the grid doesn't just show around the controllers if they get too close, it shows up all…

  19. Make communication more accessible for the sign community. Use hand/finger tracking when holding controllers.

    Add the ability to use hand/finger tracking when holding controllers natively or when using Link cable.

    Sign language with friends would become a lot easier if this was added. Currently, making hand signs like holding three fingers up or slightly curving your fingers is impossible when using apps such as VRChat. If this was added to Quest 2 and Quest, this could them be added by applications and would make it a lot easier for the sign community to converse in Virtual Reality.
