Keep Oculus Rooms!
Oculus Rooms is still a great app that can be used by families, or friends (from outside VR) that happen to both own Go :)
There's currently no alternative for Rooms on GO so I'm not sure what's the plan here. It takes away one of cool features Go already has without providing any substitution? Bigscreen, altspace etc don't have the same level of integration as Oculus Rooms.
I would understand it if it was 2021 but right now GO is still a popular device and making it deliberately worse is a bad choice imo!

When I originally bought my Quest 2 (around the time of the second round of stimulus checks), I was under the uninformed impression that I would be able to use Oculus Rooms to help me deal with the isolation and feeling trapped in my not so spacious room. While having access to VRChat helped a little bit, it was devastating to learn that not only could I not use it or even buy it, it would be virtually impossible to get my hands on a headset that could access it. A customizable room with interactable objects that I could navigate and give myself the illusion that my restrictive real life environment was in fact a calming open room was the primary reason I bought the headset to begin with. I have been searching for a way to get it to work since my headset arrived, but to no avail. and none of the apps I've tried that are supposed to be alternatives to this come close. if it's at all possible it would mean a lot to me and i'm sure countless others to re-enstate this and port it to the Quest 2.
I'm an Oculus GO owner and a Facebook shareholder. Removing the Oculus Rooms app (in 2019) was a terrible decision. Deciding against reinstating Oculus Rooms during the Covid-19 pandemic (in 2020) is an even worse decision. This is a feature that should have been brought back and used to market the sale of Quest 2 headsets during the pandemic. There are many potential customers who would buy multiple headsets just to be able to sit and listen to music and play some chess with a socially distant family member. Why not create a paid "Business" version of Oculus Rooms for e.g. sales teams to use during a sourcing event, charge a subscription fee for enhanced business features and use that money to subsidize webhosting for the regular Oculus Rooms app.
Exactly! What are are we supposed to do with this headset now?? I bought this for my 12 year old son exactly 1 year ago and now he can’t do anything that he used to do with it and that’s not fair at all. Had I known this I wouldn’t have even bought it, I wound have got the quest. I think we should be compensated for this especially those of us who recently purchased it.
Bring back rooms! Especially since horizons won’t be available on the go! What am I supposed to do with this headset? I’m not buying a new one.
Also, anyone that is currently using social apps on the go, i would recommend telling others to come here and vote and comment
This is unacceptable. I had my dad and sister accross the us get these and that is the only place we hung out. It was personal space. So now we have three 200$ peices of trash. If they want loyalty they should allow us to get the quest for 200$ to replace unsupported hardware they sold us. I was thinking about getting a rift and the quest. If this is how it is, i will buy nothing from this company again
I definitely agree with you that is the reason I bought the go. Without rooms it is just an expensive little rides toy.

I just got 2 headsets for my family as a Christmas gift, mainly because of the rooms ..Why would we lose them... It’s downgraded the headset ... So annoyed and won’t be staying with the Oculus brand if this is the way forward 😡😡😡

I agree. I just received my Go and I got it after seeing that it had Rooms you could setup for your private space to invite friends into. That sucks!
Bring it back! Stop leaving Go users our to dry!

I bought two Go headsets specifically for Rooms, as I have a long distance partner. Guess I'll return them as there's no indication Horizon is coming to the Go.

Just got my Go in Black Friday and was really hyped by apps like Oculus Rooms. I've just created my avatar and was ready to jump in when the app told me it wasn't available and the replacement would be Facebook Horizon. Then I found out the Go is not a target for Facebook Horizon.
How could this be possible? You promised me the social interaction of Rooms and now you are taking it away? At least send me a Quest in return of this absolutely disrespectful move and bad advertising.
Please return the rooms! Your advertising shows hanging out together and now we can't!
Guess can scrap my Thanksgiving plan to show off the GO to family/friends and about sharing through Rooms from anywhere. They would have easily been in on their own GO. Why Oculus abandon product support so soon? Without ROOMS, the GO is just an overpriced Daydream, Gear VR or 3rd party VR goggle.
Hope Oculus ROOMS is brought back and the company treat their product support more seriously. Especially if they want people to take the name Oculus seriously.
The official marketing for the Go shows users watching shows together. I just bought my wife a Go so we could watch Hulu together while traveling for work. If you provide a launch to do so through Oculus TV you could honor your advertisement obligations. As of today this feels wrong and broaches false advertisement of a product you are still capturing new sales for. Please make this right!

I don’t know if the developers even read these comments but I have to try somewhere.
My FAVORITE game on Oculus Go was Monopoly Deal .. I never played with others just the AIs.
I (and probably others) would be willing to PAY for a Monopoly Deal game as a stand-alone game outside of Oculus Rooms.
PLEASE bring the Monopoly Deal game back even if we have to pay for it and can only play against AIs. Thank you!
This is legitimately sad: https://redd.it/dqez2o
And this message is insulting: https://imgur.com/JNVo4k0
It basically translates like this: "We're taking away this feature, but don't worry, you can buy a different headset for twice the cost of the one you have now and use a different social platform instead".

Being it back and restore my faith in your company.

Hanging with friends in rooms and chatting/playing games was the number one reason we bought our Oculus'. Please don't shut them down!!! Better yet, build them up and add more games! The Horizon may be cool, but it's not similar enough to REPLACE rooms. Both should exist and keep updating.
