Oculus Rift S and Rift
Welcome to the Oculus Rift S and Rift feedback forum! This is the location to provide all your feature requests and ideas for the Oculus Rift platform. We're looking forward to hearing from you on the following areas of the product:
- Dash: Oculus Dash is the in-VR command center the pops up when you hit the Oculus button on your Touch controller. Dash allows you to access PC Desktop apps, your VR Library, and other system settings and services from anywhere in VR.
- Desktop App: This is the out-of-VR Oculus application on your PC that allows you to do things like browse the store, manage your settings, and view your friends list, among other things.
- General: Use this category for any feedback that doesn’t fit neatly into one of the other more specific categories.
- Home: This is your customizable in-VR home where you can show off your unique style and decorations.
- Store: The place where all VR app purchasing takes place. The Store category covers both the out-of-VR and in-VR stores.

Allow messaging between friends
A messaging system like steam that is both available from the desktop app and in Dash.
88 votesThanks to everyone who voted for this idea. As part of a recent software update, we added the ability to message friends through chats for users who login with Facebook. You can learn more about this and other new social features by checking out the following blog post: https://www.oculus.com/blog/introducing-new-features-from-facebook-to-help-people-connect-in-vr-and-an-update-to-our-privacy-policy/

Let us completely delete games and apps from our oculus account..
Having the games stay on your account as "not installed" when you want to completely delete them is stupid, please fix this i love u bois
61 votesWhile you are not able to completely remove a game or app from your account, you are able to hide items, which we believe should help you ultimately accomplish what you’re trying to do with this idea. As a result, we’re marking this idea as complete.
To hide a game or app, locate the item within your Library, click the three dots next to the item, and select ‘Hide’. This will hide that item by default within your library. Using the filters option within the top right of Library, you can choose ‘Hidden Apps’ to view all the otherwise hidden items. We hope this helps!

Zero-quantity items should still be grabbable from the menu
Especially for small items it is a bit annoying to have to look for where it is placed at the moment to go fetch it when you want to place it somewhere else. There should be an override that grabs the first placed instance of a limited quantity prop if you try to grab it from the menu (preferrably with user confirmation to not mess anything up by accident)
108 votesThanks for voting for this idea! We addressed this feedback in a previous software update. Now, if you try to grab a zero quantity item that currently exists in your home, you will be asked if you wish to retrieve one instance of that item to re-place it in your home. Enjoy!

Screenshot shortcut
add a screenshot shortcut that can be used anywhere with oculus rift
101 votesThanks for submitting this idea! We recently added this functionality as part of the 1.37 Capture screenshots from inside your headset by pressing the ‘screenshot’ button located on the menu on the right side of your Dash belt. There is a 5 second timer to set the pose and position of the screenshot. Images will be saved out to your C:\Users\User\Pictures\ directory. Happy screenshotting!

Have a dedicated Movie Room.
It could have a giant screen to watch youtube etc on their. Maybe make a an extension of the current home space so you enter a door or something that brings you to the dedicated movie room. It would be all blacked out and look like a theater. Can watch movies from your pc.
79 votesThanks for submitting and voting for this idea. As part of a prior software update, we added the ability to select a theater template as the basis for your home, thus giving you a dedicated movie room. We hope you like it!

Add a 'Mirror' in Home
Would be brilliant to add a 'Mirror' so we can customise avatar in our home, it would add excellent immersion, every home needs a mirror right!
57 votesThanks for the idea! I can confirm that an Avatar editor mirror object for Oculus Home was added as part of the July 2018 Rift software update. We hope you’re enjoying it!

Ability to pin a Webcam feed
It would be great to take your webcam and be able to pin a feed of it in VR during gameplay. I for one would appreciate being able to see when someone walks in my office and know when to pause. I am sure there are other useful ways this could be used.
73 votesAs noted in the comments below, this feature has been implemented. Simply pin the window that contains the webcam feed and you should be good to go! More info can be found here: https://support.oculus.com/166993604065478/ Happy Rifting!

Long button press to get to the menu.
Just got my Rift and while I really enjoy it there is nothing more frustrating that going to the menu for the 10th time in the middle of a Beat Saber song. An option to add a 2-3 second delay to the menu buttons would be great.
2 votesThanks for your submission. As mentioned in the comments below, this functionality can be enabled through an in-VR settings option. It was added through a previous software update. Thank you!

Old void looks much better
The old void with 'infinite' grid looked much better.
It was cosy, futuristic and felt comfortable and safe compared to the new gray void.
69 votesThanks for submitting this feedback. This is an overdue update, but the grid style void has been implemented. The previous blank gray void should not be visible at this time. Thanks!

Custom room layout & Scenery tool
Would be nice to recreate real room layouts.
Entering;
- Basic floor layout.
- Setting wall hight.
- Adding Windows to walls (hight/width/distance from floor level)
- Adding Doors to walls (open or closed/hight/width)
- Adding Openings to walls (square or round/hight/width/distance from floor level)
- Adding outside environment (360/Panorama or ordinary photos as background outside windows/openings/doors.)/J
14 votesThanks for voting for this idea! In a previous software update, we added the ability to import custom home layouts. Check out the following blog post for full details: https://www.oculus.com/blog/rift-creation-spotlight-building-oculus-home-with-custom-objects-and-models/?locale=en_US

Allow organisation of library through categories.
Simple really.
Please let us categorize our games. Example: Favorites, multiplayer, creative, app, vr experience, arcade shooter, simulator.
My library has become so large & it's not getting any smaller.
68 votesThanks for submitting this idea! Categories have been introduced to the Library section of the Oculus software in the form of the Filters feature. In Library, click the Filters button in the top right to see a variety of different categories that should help you better navigate your games and apps. We hope you like it! There is a separate idea for marking certain items as ‘favorites’ here: https://rift.uservoice.com/forums/918556-oculus-rift/suggestions/32691043-set-apps-in-library-as-favorites-with-ability-to-s

Let me Place the Home-Hopping Crystal Balls as Objects
As someone who has really enjoyed setting up multiple homes, I think it would be awesome to be able to move between different homes without opening the Oculus Home Menu. For example, being able to place the "home-hopping" crystal balls as decorations on a desk or table would be great. Alternatively, being able to place wall-mounted portals through which we could teleport between homes might be even better.
If such an object or portal could be set up between one of my homes and a friend's home, that would be better yet.32 votesThanks for voting for this idea! Earlier in the year, we introduced Gateways, which let you link other Homes. These can be your other Homes or even a friend’s Home! You can find Gateways within your inventory while in Home. Enjoy!

Snap Turning
Teleporting in home is ok since the area is small But it definitely needs Snap Turning to make it feel smother and more comfortable.
29 votesThanks for this submission. Snap turning in Oculus Home was added as part of a previous software update. You can control options in the Settings menu while in Oculus Home. Thanks!

Patch notes
In the Library/Updates view there's a place for patch notes with every app update, but the Oculus system updates never have any patch notes. Instead the patch notes are posted on the Oculus forums. It would be nice to see what I just installed without going to the forums.
Facebook Spaces is another repeat offender. It seems so strange, since having a place to put the notes is your own feature.
17 votesThanks for submitting this idea. Patch notes have been added to the Oculus system software updates. To see what’s new in the latest Oculus system software update, navigate to Library > Updates and click the ’What’s New’ button under a recent Oculus system update.

Add Mirrors / closet room
In the old home you could customize your Avatar and be taken to a closet room with a mirror to see yourself.
Implement that in a style like RecRoom VR.
Let us place a mirror which opens up a menu when touched to customize the avatar. That would make the room more "alive" so you can choose a new outfit before "heading out" into the World.36 votesGood news! An avatar editor mirror was added to Home as part of a previous software update. You can find this item in your inventory and place it anywhere in your Home. We hope you like it!
-
Customizable Home Floor Plan
Currently everyone's Home is just the same room with different skins and items. Instead, we should be able to completely customize the floor plan, make different rooms/floors, etc. This would allow for much more interesting and personalized setups.
25 votesGood news! The ability to import custom home environments / layouts was added as part of the February 1.35 Rift software update. Just like importing your own custom items, you can place a .glb file in your My Imports\Custom Homes folder and use that object as a template for brand new Homes!
-
Add a door system and the capacity to create different room of different sizes
when you teleport to the door that you placed you get teleported to that new room you created.
i would definitely want to create one room specially for watching movie and in future (when we got better resolution) would make an office space as well.25 votesThanks for voting up this idea. This functionality can be achieved using the Gateway from your inventory. Simply create a second home, add a Gateway to each that links to the other, and your spaces will be linked for easily travel between the two! You can also take advantage of the Home templates to have one of the Homes be a dedicated theater. Enjoy!

Ipd status popping up during fast head movement
When I'm playing superhot or space pirate trainer and do a fast dodge oculus displays my ipd for a split second. I played space pirate trainer a few days before the beta and never saw it happen.
16 votesThis issue should no longer be occurring. If you are still experiencing this behavior, please contact Oculus Support. Thanks.

Dont force oculus client to open itself
No matter what I tried, the new Oculus client would reopen itself every time I closed it. I could see the screen in my rift light up, and hear sounds as I was loaded into home, with my rift sitting on a shelf, nothing triggering the proximity sensor (that im aware of). Eventually I was forced to roll back to stop it.
16 votesThanks for submitting this feedback through UserVoice. The behavior described in this post should not be occurring. We’ve made a number of software changes and enhancements since this idea was submitted and we believe this issue has been resolved. As a result, we are marking this submission as completed. If you are still experiencing this issue, please open a ticket with Oculus support so we can investigate further. Thanks!
