Dear Oculus R&D Team
I am a long time Oculus supporter. I currently have the Oculus Go, Rift and Rift S.
I prefer the original to my Rift S due to the higher refresh rate and inclusion of OLED lenses but only my Rift S will fit over my glasses.
Also I would love to know why Oculus Product Development moved away from the superior OLED lenses in the original Rift and replaced them with a sub-par single pane of glass LCD design for the Rift S. Not having OLED completely ruins the experience and immersion for any VR games that have darker scenes. The blackness of space in Star Wars Squadron would be a good example of this. Another good example would be first person horror games.
it also concerns me that the Quest 1 has OLED display but the Quest 2 is using LCD displays. I was about to click the pre-order button for the Quest 2 on the day it was announced but then to my displeasure I discovered that it is using LCD lenses. I myself am a business man and understand the concept of cutting cost to increase net profit but there is a delicate balance to this art. As you know LCD is cheaper for manufacturers to buy in bulk than OLED but at the end of the day you run the risk of losing customers by offering a new product that has drawbacks that may out way the benefits of the new features.
Here is a list of VR headsets I currently own.
HTC Vive
Oculus Go
Oculus Rift
Oculus Rift S
Playstation VR
Valve Index
As you can see I have a broad range of VR headsets and am very opinionated on the benefits and drawbacks of each product.
I would love to work with your Product Manager. I believe my 35 years of gaming knowledge and 25 years of IT Professional Experience would be beneficial to Oculus as a company.
VR is the future and I fully stand behind it.
Help me help make Oculus a household name and achieve its full potential.
Thank you,
