Don't require Facebook for social features
Your recent demand that all social users engage through Facebook is a bad decidion. I will not allow my children to be exposed thru Facebook so you can make a few pennies in marketing kickbacks. We will never participate in an Oculus social media again and I will actively campaign online against you from this point on.

My best friend hasn't been able to get his Facebook and Oculus accounts to work together in the first place and got no help from Oculus support. Our group (4 of us that meet online regularly) has started using Discord for communications and have bought far less Oculus exclusives since the change.

My SO and I removed ourselves from Facebook in 2018. Wiped it. And we're not going back for any reason. If Oculus wants to cut its own throat trying to push Facebook, we'll be switching to Steam, and if the hardware stops working, index. Facebook. Ugh. Never again.

I could have at least understood them making a NEW optional app that had social features that they required facebook to use. I still wouldn't have used it, but i wouldn't be upset either... But to go back and REMOVE features that have already worked just fine and put them behind a Facebook wall retroactively is disgusting. I was oculus biggest supporter, now i tell everyone I can to stay away or go for index. When it's time for an upgrade ill 100% be switching to any competitor. Ill happily pay more to not have facebook shoved up my A**

Rift owner. If Facebook is required I’ll jump ship from oculus to index. I don’t and will not use Facebook.

It's malicious to require Facebook. If it's not removed I will switch to Index or similar.

Quest owner, won't upgrade if Facebook usage is forced. Just means I'll use my Quest less and my Index more.

Rift S owner here. I will never use facebook again. If I am forced to, I will simply sell my Rift and buy an Index.

Kind of ironic that in order to vote in this very poll, you need to log in with a social app. Facebook or Google.

Could not agree more. It's a disgusting marginal cash grab. I was profoundly disappointed with the original sale to FB, but had been pleasantly surprised by the hands off approach taken. The other shoe dropped at Christmas.

Yep - facebook should NOT be a requirement for this headset.

With the direction that Facebook is going these days, it makes me want to buy another brand's headset when I decide to upgrade. I'm not interested in any of facebook's social features. I had my concerns when Oculus got bought by Facebook, and today I can see those concerns coming true.
