Current compatibility tool for Oculus doesn't make a distiction between USB chipset generations, and Rift S only runs on USB 3.2 Gen2 ports. It will show that computer is compatible even if it has USB3.0 or USB3.2 Gen1 ports which do not have sufficient bandwidth.
