trade up program
I would love to see a trade in program to be able to send you my old headset once I receive the new unit to minimize packing material and be able to reach a wider audience. now I was an early adopter and I knew things would change but ive always been a huge fan of vr, now when the first vr headset came out I saved and saved to finally buy the unit and ive been overall very happy with it. the biggest draw backs have been the sensors and not being able to see my surroundings. the new head set fixes not only these issues but several others including the horrible screen door affect that honestly gives me a headache.
Id love to buy the new headset but I don't want to have my old unit just sitting there collecting dust while I play with my new one but like someone else stated 50 dollars for a trade in.. to me that seems very low and honestly not worth It since they do sell for a couple hundred online. sure I can try my luck and get some cash back and purchase a new unit but a trade in program will do just that and help keep the old ones floating around off the market forcing people to buy new. to me its a way oculus can not only get the new devices into older consumers hands like my self but help get people who are on the fence about buying a new one and getting a old one and being disappointed. its a win win, id like to see a 40-50% discount to trade in the old headsets for a new one. at the time of purchase my original headset was 499 and I don't expect to get that back nor will I ever try but if i can trade it in for a reasonable price i will to get the best of the best and show it off like i have with my original one.
the main reason a lot of my friends wouldn't buy one was the sensors limiting where they can play and the portability of it the new one is pretty much plug and play and im sure more of my friends would come around and get it once they try it out but arnt willing to take the risk like i was.
this is my two cents and im sure nothing will come about to a trade in program but heres to wishful thinking.

I absolutely agree. I have Oculus Rift that I bought last year, but with Quest out in the market I want to upgrade, but I asked Customer support. They said no such option available at this time. With technology changing this fast there should be upgrades and trade-in options available.
