Sword Grip and some ideas for sword related interaction:
Hello Folks, I'm loving Oculus Core 2 - find myself puttering around in the vr space more than actually loading games now, AMAZING start.
However, while I don't yet have a sword of my own in my objects, I did spend a bit of time playing with the one in the example rooms, and was frankly a bit disappointed. The reason is not the modeling or art or anything like that - but the grip.
You've modeled the oculus controllers with a beautiful ergonomic grip, that lays in your hand very similarly to how a sword hilt should sit (that comfortable handshake grip) - and yet the sword sits with a crude 90 degree angle to the wrist and as a result just feels wrong. Would be great if you fixed the blade projection angle.
How about a floating magic ball that shoots arrows to be deflected? (Not to be confused with a robotic laser spewing ball)
A stand that generates holographic tube/bamboo/tatami or just a light pillar that can be cut down (the target would stay momentarily after the cut to show the angle, then dissolve like the holo-targets - this would be far more interesting if the edge alignment of the blade actually mattered.
Keep up the good work!
