Marketplace where users can upload and sell furniture and items
I think it would be great to have a store for Oculus Home furniture and items, that users can upload and sell 3D models (or Medium Sculpts) to (Oculus getting 30% cut though, obviously).
This marketplace SHOULD be curated, to only allow items that meet the quality level of the current Oculus-made items to be sold.

I tracked down this website and sifted through many many ideas just to find this one! This is exactly what I want, what I need... this is a future industry just waiting to boom.

I don't think it should be curated, just let the community vote on things the same way the Sketchup Warehouse, Thingiverse, etc operate.

My brother is a **** of an object modeler in 3d. He does it professionally with solidworks with insane detail, and is dying to make stuff for Home.

I would love this. Some may not want a pay marketplace opportunity, but others would. We're talking about The Sims marketplace here as well as Second Life. Both platforms do huuuuge volumnes of selling/trading items for personal decor. As long as the users could contribute to the Marketplace as well as the owners. Definitely keep the game themed drops, and random drops from time spent in VR. But after that if there is a an extra shop where users could purchase items, what harm is there? They're not essential to your gameplay and no one would be forcing you to buy anything.

As a 3D modeler, it would be pretty freaking awesome if users could upload custom 3D models that they have created to a Workshop. I'd love to be able to use customized items that I've created in the new home environment as I'm sure others as well. This would allow for endless customization and even a whole new ballgame of interior design for VR! We could even take the "Second Life" path a step further with the ability to upload 3D models for purchase on a sort of store that could benefit both the creators and Oculus. There's so much potential with this new home system!

Are you really asking for an opportunity to pay to add things to your home? I am all for a marketplace to share user created content, but I don't really feel like paying to decorate a virtual space with digital furniture.
It would really take the steam (no pun) out of all the awesome features if decorating it was put behind a pay wall. I am all for bonus items being available when purchasing games, and I'm glad to pay for games themselves, but it would suck to start paying money just for the items.
