Have standard joystick locomotion as an option in settings (with strafing)
I’d love to see the capability to control using the left stick for movement and the right stick for turning, as opposed to teleport locomotion. I understand that some users may experience motion sickness this way however, so perhaps an option in the settings?
Hey all – we’re marking this idea as started, as joystick locomotion was implemented in a previous software update. However, from the comments, it is clear that this idea has morphed a bit to include the specific request of strafing being included in the control scheme. I’ve updated the idea title to include the request for strafing controls. Thanks!

Ahh, I knew it was a good day to check up on this. I will try out the new movement options now :D
We have added some new movement options available today in the public test channel build.
The day this gets added is the day I start to use home. I really don't like the teleport locomotion...

Yes please! Teleporting is absolutely awful for those of us who don’t need it.

Smooth locomotion option YES PLEASE. How is it possible that this has still not be implemented?
6 months later and still not a single WORD from oculus regarding this.
So this user voice is useless if they are ignoring this top request?
Please add this.
I'm so used to 360 roomscale with locomotion it's weird to teleport now.
Can't be too hard to add.
should have been implemented as a non default option from go IMHO. REALLY weird that so many games had successfully implemented it way before the home was launched.

This idea have had the most votes for 5 months now... why has it not been implemented?
I keep being annoyed by having to teleport everywhere. Is it really that Oculus are scared of the "risk" of users getting motion sick? Because for some of us, teleportion and snap movement is about as annoying. Well I dont get motion sick, but I do get disoriented having to move like this and it somewhat ruins the whole "Home" experience. I would feel like using it much more if it was not for this.

DEAR GOD PLEASE!!!!! teleport sucks, some people can handle motion sickness and some people can't it should be optional.

Personally not had any issue with VR motion sickness, even with Eve Valkyrie, Lone Echo, but some people are just more prone than others.
Full locomotion seems to be getting more accepted as the preferred movement method. Rec Room has just had their 'walk' update, a full locomotion option.
Everyone I've met who were using the 'walk' method had only just come back to rec room after being absent for weeks/months because they tired of the teleport movement and loved the 'walk' mode.
This time last year most responses regarding free loco on Reddit would complain about VR sickness etc. I think it's definitely time for the Dash to have a 'walk' mode pleaaaaase Oculus!
Please, PLEASE yes. Smooth locomotion AND smooth turning are absolutely essential for any VR game in my opinion, and that extends to Oculus Home as well. I get more disoriented having to teleport around everywhere than I do being able to freely move with the joystick.
Pretty please, my home should be a place of freedom. I would love to move around my space, be able to sit, stand and (for decorating purposes) float. There are a wide range of locomotion options and they should all be available in home simply for people to experiment and play.
This needs to be an option, definitely. Not enabled by default by any means, but an option nonetheless.
Hoping we can get to the point where *every* game that implements player movement has a standard set of movement options, comfort options etc. Like how FPS games settled on a WASD+mouse control scheme after a few iterations, but still allow configurability.
Playing hl2 on the dk1 is what sold me on vr. Still my best experience, and all because of locomotion.

When you do eventually add this feature PLEASE give us an option for smooth turning too! The developers of The Mage's Tale patched in free locomotion as an option which was great but them not adding a smooth turning option is infuriating. It's basic game design to have the two options together ffs

free locomotion.....down with teleport, it's lame.
