Allow games from Unknown Sources (Steam) as Cartridges and Boxes
Adding to that, allow us to add game images (StoreAssets) to said Steam games from the desktop app.

Yess please, or if it's too hard you could at least make a steam vr cartridge. I understand you don't like your competitor so you could make it look like one of those Chinese ripoff yellow cartridges with the 999999 games to mock them lol.

Or at the very least make a Steam VR cartridge.

Adding my voice to the request. I love using the cartridges to launch games; it adds immersion for me by never having to “leave” the virtual space. It’s not a big deal, but I have a fantasy of having all of my VR games in one place in my Oculus home. Please see if this is a simple feature to add, a lot of us would use the feature daily.

This would be amazing. I cannot purchase any games on the oculus store as I am totally unable to use any of their accepted payment methods and this is not likely to change. I can however buy things on steam. This means i cannot have any of my games except the ones i got with the rift as cartridges and boxes so that entire feature is right now totally useless.

And now its over a year... Why is this still not implemented? I mean you guys already realized that its unrealistic to assume that most Oculus Rift owner won't at least occasiotanally buy content outside of the Oculus Store and therefor implemented the ability to add Steam titles to the Oculus library. Just use those data to texture the boxes and add a no-picture-found texture to be used when other people visit your home space.

How is this not supported by default? Even if it would use the desktop icon for the art it would be ok for me just make it happen.

Been like half a year and still haven't seen this happen yet. Would really love to have these as a feature, Oculus.

I agree with your wish. Being able to edit or create game cartridges for Unknown Source would be great.

I think the game cartridge thing with Oculus games is super cool. When I popped First Contact into the virtual console, pressed the power button and put on the HMD in VR, prompting it to actually launch First Conact; super rad.
But many of my VR games are on Steam. I can launch them from my library, sure, but having virtual game cartridges of my other games would be amazing. I'm sure a big hurdle to get over would be assets like cartridge and box textures, but give us the tools to import images (we all know how to use photoshop and file explorer) and we can make it happen ourselves for the most part.
Thanks.

Perhaps a simple Cartridge / Box with editable text ? Would not be as pretty, but would avoid many issues.
If you wanted to take it a little further allow an image but insist on Alt text for it.
Only problem is 13 year old boys, the pictures and text could get "interesting" -

Third Party Games should be able to be added as library items in home as well as a improved Third Party Games system. It should function similarly to Steam, with adding the EXE files through a menu and with the option to import each of the images.

ABSOLUTELY! One of my favorite features is seeing my games as boxes and carts lying on a table waiting to be played... it really triggers that nostalgia for me, and I would love to have ALL of my VR games in one place. I can understand if boxes aren't possible because the assets are from a different marketplace, but a cartridge with a simple label should be doable.

Have you got unknown sources enabled? My steam VR games show up as cartridges and boxes... even unreal engine.exe is there.
