Can't interact with Discord at all with Dash. Will be the most common reason I remove my Rift to use.47 votes
Thanks for letting us know about this. Discord should be working properly within Dash. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact Oculus support so we can troubleshoot! Thanks! https://support.oculus.com/885981024820727/
One year after Touch Launch, the Desktop app still doesn't support some of the languages with more speakers in the world as Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, ...
You have made a really great work with the update, but the non English Speakers can't enjoy it at 100%. Please, listen the non- english speakers and translate the Desktop App and Dash to those languages. Thank you.31 votes
Thanks again for submitting this idea! As mentioned below, we added nine additional languages last year. You can set the Oculus software language by navigating to Settings > General > Language Preference. These have exited the beta phase and are now fully implemented. Our team continues to work towards on adding more languages over time, and we greatly appreciate your patience while this work takes place. If you have any feedback on our language options, please let us know!
Please add the Clock / Time back into Dash.
If I remember correctly we had that in the Void and I usually lose total track of time when inside VR.
Currently there is no way to tell the time without putting down the HMD.
I not only want a clock in Home - Dash is important because you can quickly open that up and check the time. Maybe make it a pinnable Window (wink wink nudge nudge) native to Oculus without adding another program / window from your desktop :-)191 votes
Thanks for this submission. The current date and time can be found on the far right end of the Dash bar. If you would like clock objects within Home, the submission for that idea can be found here: https://rift.uservoice.com/forums/918556-oculus-rift/suggestions/32543971-clocks. Thanks!
In the old home you could customize your Avatar and be taken to a closet room with a mirror to see yourself.
Implement that in a style like RecRoom VR.
Let us place a mirror which opens up a menu when touched to customize the avatar. That would make the room more "alive" so you can choose a new outfit before "heading out" into the World.36 votes
Good news! An avatar editor mirror was added to Home as part of a previous software update. You can find this item in your inventory and place it anywhere in your Home. We hope you like it!
when you teleport to the door that you placed you get teleported to that new room you created.
i would definitely want to create one room specially for watching movie and in future (when we got better resolution) would make an office space as well.25 votes
Thanks for voting up this idea. This functionality can be achieved using the Gateway from your inventory. Simply create a second home, add a Gateway to each that links to the other, and your spaces will be linked for easily travel between the two! You can also take advantage of the Home templates to have one of the Homes be a dedicated theater. Enjoy!
You can get the time up from settings, but I would love to have a variety of functional clocks that show the system time - possibly even ones that can be set to a time offset for gaming with friends in other timezones.
Grandfather clocks, carriage clocks, futuristic clocks, even some funkier things, like waterclocks and hourglasses that can be touched for the time.479 votes
Great news! Clocks were added as Home decorations earlier this month! You can find all the cool clocks by navigating to the Inventory menu and then selecting Decorations. Time to get back into VR!
It could have a giant screen to watch youtube etc on their. Maybe make a an extension of the current home space so you enter a door or something that brings you to the dedicated movie room. It would be all blacked out and look like a theater. Can watch movies from your pc.79 votes
Thanks for submitting and voting for this idea. As part of a prior software update, we added the ability to select a theater template as the basis for your home, thus giving you a dedicated movie room. We hope you like it!
It would be pretty awesome if we could put our monitors on the wall in our rooms pernemently, so they stayed when we teleported around. Or maybe some sort of wall of apps from our desktop that we could quick launch.411 votes
As part of the June 2018 Rift software update, we added a number of items that allow you to display your PC’s desktop. These objects can be found within the Special Items section of your Home inventory. These items allow you to effectively attach your desktop to a wall within Home. As a result, we are marking this submission as completed.
If you would like to see any further refinements or update to this feature, please submit a new UserVoice suggestion that details what you would like to see added or changed. Thanks!
It'd be great if you could import your own pictures/art off your own PC and hang them on the wall. You could have pictures of your family, dog, or your favorite piece of art for example.389 votes
As mentioned below, you are able to import your own picture files into Home by utilizing custom objects. Support for custom object importation was added as part of the June 2018 Rift software update. You can also display photos and videos using the special monitor items that were added as part of the same software update.
We are marking this idea as complete. If you would like to see further improvements to this functionality or something a bit different than what we implemented, please create a new UserVoice suggestion with the details. Thanks!
Some desktop windows show as an empty frame, with the Dash window controls, when grabbed from the desktop monitor to the Dash space.7 votes
This issue has been resolved. If you are still experiencing this behavior, please contact Oculus Support.
You can rotate objects but you can't make them bigger or smaller!280 votes
The 1.43 software update containing this feature is now available to all users. As a result, I’ll be marking this idea as completed. Thanks again for the suggestion and enjoy this new Home feature!
Object interaction should remain consistent within the virtual space.213 votes
Thanks for this suggestion. I’m pleased to report that this has been implemented. Torn out windows are dismissed by pressing the B button when the window is being held. Enjoy!
Please let us categorize our games. Example: Favorites, multiplayer, creative, app, vr experience, arcade shooter, simulator.
My library has become so large & it's not getting any smaller.68 votes
Thanks for submitting this idea! Categories have been introduced to the Library section of the Oculus software in the form of the Filters feature. In Library, click the Filters button in the top right to see a variety of different categories that should help you better navigate your games and apps. We hope you like it! There is a separate idea for marking certain items as ‘favorites’ here: https://rift.uservoice.com/forums/918556-oculus-rift/suggestions/32691043-set-apps-in-library-as-favorites-with-ability-to-s
Allowing user created environments for the room and surroundings. They could be available through a community tab/section.
Maybe even with a voting system.159 votes
As you can create a home from a template or import your own custom geometry as the basis for your home, we are marking this idea as complete. Thanks again for voting for this idea!
Instead of only being able to access the friends we have on Facebook that are connected to oculus, it would be helpful to be able to add friends via their nickname on the Oculus app.11 votes
Thanks for providing your input. The ability to add Oculus friends by Oculus username has been implemented. Within the Oculus software, if you select Friends from the left side bar and click Add Friends at the bottom, you can search by real name or username. See you in VR!
Especially for small items it is a bit annoying to have to look for where it is placed at the moment to go fetch it when you want to place it somewhere else. There should be an override that grabs the first placed instance of a limited quantity prop if you try to grab it from the menu (preferrably with user confirmation to not mess anything up by accident)108 votes
Thanks for voting for this idea! We addressed this feedback in a previous software update. Now, if you try to grab a zero quantity item that currently exists in your home, you will be asked if you wish to retrieve one instance of that item to re-place it in your home. Enjoy!
As a multimedia creator (Blender, Photoshop, Premiere) being able to use my mouse (and move across various windows while doing so) is a must. I was really hoping to be able to create directly while I'm VR, unfortunately this doesn't seem possible with the current iteration.214 votes
Thanks for voting for this idea. As part of a previous software update, we added the ability to see and use your real mouse within the Oculus virtual desktop. Please note that Dash must be up for this to work. If a window is pinned and Dash is not up, the mouse is not expected to be visible. We hope you enjoy using this feature!
add a screenshot shortcut that can be used anywhere with oculus rift101 votes
Thanks for submitting this idea! We recently added this functionality as part of the 1.37 Capture screenshots from inside your headset by pressing the ‘screenshot’ button located on the menu on the right side of your Dash belt. There is a 5 second timer to set the pose and position of the screenshot. Images will be saved out to your C:\Users\User\Pictures\ directory. Happy screenshotting!
It would be great to take your webcam and be able to pin a feed of it in VR during gameplay. I for one would appreciate being able to see when someone walks in my office and know when to pause. I am sure there are other useful ways this could be used.73 votes
As noted in the comments below, this feature has been implemented. Simply pin the window that contains the webcam feed and you should be good to go! More info can be found here: https://support.oculus.com/166993604065478/ Happy Rifting!
Dunno if this is possible, but it'd be cool if we could pin a window in home on the wall or wherever like discord for example, and it stays in that spot.296 votes
Thanks for submitting this feedback. Pinning Windows within your Home can be accomplished by utilizing the Special Items within your Home inventory. Additionally, as of the 1.32 software update, custome Home objects now support embedded panels. This means that you can make your very own special item and include an embedded panel to pin the window(s) of your choice. We hope you like it!
