Oculus Rift S and Rift
Welcome to the Oculus Rift S and Rift feedback forum! This is the location to provide all your feature requests and ideas for the Oculus Rift platform. We're looking forward to hearing from you on the following areas of the product:
- Dash: Oculus Dash is the in-VR command center the pops up when you hit the Oculus button on your Touch controller. Dash allows you to access PC Desktop apps, your VR Library, and other system settings and services from anywhere in VR.
- Desktop App: This is the out-of-VR Oculus application on your PC that allows you to do things like browse the store, manage your settings, and view your friends list, among other things.
- General: Use this category for any feedback that doesn’t fit neatly into one of the other more specific categories.
- Home: This is your customizable in-VR home where you can show off your unique style and decorations.
- Store: The place where all VR app purchasing takes place. The Store category covers both the out-of-VR and in-VR stores.

Long button press to get to the menu.
Just got my Rift and while I really enjoy it there is nothing more frustrating that going to the menu for the 10th time in the middle of a Beat Saber song. An option to add a 2-3 second delay to the menu buttons would be great.
2 votesThanks for your submission. As mentioned in the comments below, this functionality can be enabled through an in-VR settings option. It was added through a previous software update. Thank you!

Snap Turning
Teleporting in home is ok since the area is small But it definitely needs Snap Turning to make it feel smother and more comfortable.
29 votesThanks for this submission. Snap turning in Oculus Home was added as part of a previous software update. You can control options in the Settings menu while in Oculus Home. Thanks!

Add a quick way to mute the microphone
Please add a quick way to mute the microphone. I live in a noisy house and I don't want to bother anyone in a multiplayer game when my kid starts crying, my dog starts barking, my wife has to ask me something or I have to answer the phone.
The noise might be annoying to other people in a multiplayer game and sometimes I'd like to keep an real-world conversation private. My preferred way for this to work would be to hold down the "Dash" (Universal Menu) button on the right controller for 2 seconds to mute/unmute the microphone.
Double-pressing…100 votesThanks for submitting this feature request! In the November 2018 Rift software update, our team added a new Dash rollover menu. Hover your pointer on the right side of the belt for instant access to mic volume (allowing you to mute), audio volume, Touch status, and to re-center your view. We hope this helps improve your Rift experience!

Being able to save more than one Home
I would like to customize different home to fit with the environment. For example, when I use the space background, I would like to set my home in a science fiction style but I would like a fantasy style for the one with the boat.
Plus I could let my kid create his own environment without completely screwing mine like he does right now.
4 votesThis functionality was added in a previous update. Thanks for the submission!

Allow messaging between friends
A messaging system like steam that is both available from the desktop app and in Dash.
88 votesThanks to everyone who voted for this idea. As part of a recent software update, we added the ability to message friends through chats for users who login with Facebook. You can learn more about this and other new social features by checking out the following blog post: https://www.oculus.com/blog/introducing-new-features-from-facebook-to-help-people-connect-in-vr-and-an-update-to-our-privacy-policy/

Lower or raise the dash bar
The dash bar consistently gets in the way, and since touching a button activates it, I accidentally trigger buttons this way all the time.
3 votesThanks for this submission. The ability to raise or lower the Dash bar was added as part of a previous software update. You can grab it and move it to your desired height. Enjoy!

Give my Home a public plaintext address or URI
So I can post a link in any website, and any rifter browsing the site or ceveiving a private from me, could click on it can visit my Home (if open or authorised), or any other VR space (permanent or temporal).
Mainly an idea to quickly setup VR chat groups from common web tools, chats, websites, reddits, etc. especially when multiplayer Homes are a reality. I'd like too throwaway/instant VR spaces and URI's created for this same purpose.
Now that we have desktop in our space... leverage this and integrate!!!
7 votesGreat news! You can now share a web link for your homes in order to help others navigate them. Within the Oculus desktop software, click Friends in the bottom right, and then click your username to navigate to your user profile. Then click the three dots next to the “Visit Home” button in the top right and select Share Home. This will allow you to distribute a web link for your primary home. Enjoy!

doors to games
Instead of just cartridges, also add each game as a DOOR you can pin against a wall. Walking THROUGH the door starts the game.
This way you can pin a bunch of games/demos you want to show to friends and family and it's very easy for them to wander over and step THROUGH each door into a new world
11 votesThanks for voting for this idea! As part of the July Rift S and Rift software update, we added the ability to launch into an app from Home by utilizing the Gateway object. Simply find the Gateway object in your Home inventory, place it in your Home, and link it to an app from your library. Enjoy!

Design your own decor
now that having your own home is a thing, it would be nice to import .obj's or have an option to add models you've already made in VR
5 votesThanks for this submission. The ability to create and import UGC objects was added in a previous software update. Check out the following blog post for more info! https://www.oculus.com/blog/rift-creation-spotlight-building-oculus-home-with-custom-objects-and-models/?locale=en_US

Add a way for users to add non-oculus content to their home room.
Similar to anarchy arcade on steam, which was basically an early indy version of steam vr home, where you can place arcade cabinets, and customize what the cabinet launched by selecting an .exe from your computer, and add artwork by pasting a URL to an image, and even give the cabinet a preview video. you could also place screens around that could display a custom whatever, be it an image with a url, or a video from youtube via url, that could be clicked on to play. just add a way for us to add custom content from the internet. in…
19 votesMarking this as completed, as the majority of this can be done through a combination of importing custom UGC objects and the Oculus provided Special Items.

Ipd status popping up during fast head movement
When I'm playing superhot or space pirate trainer and do a fast dodge oculus displays my ipd for a split second. I played space pirate trainer a few days before the beta and never saw it happen.
16 votesThis issue should no longer be occurring. If you are still experiencing this behavior, please contact Oculus Support. Thanks.

Dash cannot interact with Discord.
Can't interact with Discord at all with Dash. Will be the most common reason I remove my Rift to use.
47 votesThanks for letting us know about this. Discord should be working properly within Dash. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact Oculus support so we can troubleshoot! Thanks! https://support.oculus.com/885981024820727/

Add Clock / Time back to Dash
Please add the Clock / Time back into Dash.
If I remember correctly we had that in the Void and I usually lose total track of time when inside VR.
Currently there is no way to tell the time without putting down the HMD.I not only want a clock in Home - Dash is important because you can quickly open that up and check the time. Maybe make it a pinnable Window (wink wink nudge nudge) native to Oculus without adding another program / window from your desktop :-)
191 votesThanks for this submission. The current date and time can be found on the far right end of the Dash bar. If you would like clock objects within Home, the submission for that idea can be found here: https://rift.uservoice.com/forums/918556-oculus-rift/suggestions/32543971-clocks. Thanks!

Spotify for Windows shows as an empty frame when grabbed
Some desktop windows show as an empty frame, with the Dash window controls, when grabbed from the desktop monitor to the Dash space.
7 votesThis issue has been resolved. If you are still experiencing this behavior, please contact Oculus Support.

Dismiss torn out screens with the B button when holding
Object interaction should remain consistent within the virtual space.
213 votesThanks for this suggestion. I’m pleased to report that this has been implemented. Torn out windows are dismissed by pressing the B button when the window is being held. Enjoy!

This needs the ability to see and use your real mouse (possibly a toggle).
As a multimedia creator (Blender, Photoshop, Premiere) being able to use my mouse (and move across various windows while doing so) is a must. I was really hoping to be able to create directly while I'm VR, unfortunately this doesn't seem possible with the current iteration.
214 votesThanks for voting for this idea. As part of a previous software update, we added the ability to see and use your real mouse within the Oculus virtual desktop. Please note that Dash must be up for this to work. If a window is pinned and Dash is not up, the mouse is not expected to be visible. We hope you enjoy using this feature!

Screenshot shortcut
add a screenshot shortcut that can be used anywhere with oculus rift
101 votesThanks for submitting this idea! We recently added this functionality as part of the 1.37 Capture screenshots from inside your headset by pressing the ‘screenshot’ button located on the menu on the right side of your Dash belt. There is a 5 second timer to set the pose and position of the screenshot. Images will be saved out to your C:\Users\User\Pictures\ directory. Happy screenshotting!

Ability to pin a Webcam feed
It would be great to take your webcam and be able to pin a feed of it in VR during gameplay. I for one would appreciate being able to see when someone walks in my office and know when to pause. I am sure there are other useful ways this could be used.
73 votesAs noted in the comments below, this feature has been implemented. Simply pin the window that contains the webcam feed and you should be good to go! More info can be found here: https://support.oculus.com/166993604065478/ Happy Rifting!

Old void looks much better
The old void with 'infinite' grid looked much better.
It was cosy, futuristic and felt comfortable and safe compared to the new gray void.
69 votesThanks for submitting this feedback. This is an overdue update, but the grid style void has been implemented. The previous blank gray void should not be visible at this time. Thanks!

Check for later versions of display drivers
I'm getting the "New Drivers required" error, but it shows I need a driver number lower than my currently installed.
Specifically, for a GTX 970 you say I need to upgrade to v388.31. My currently installed driver is version 388.43, dated Nov. 30, 2017 later than the required version.
1 voteThanks for the feedback. This behavior should not be happening. If the suggestion in the comment below did not resolve this behavior, please contact customer support: support.oculus.com/885981024820727. Thanks!
