Welcome to the Oculus Rift S and Rift feedback forum! This is the location to provide all your feature requests and ideas for the Oculus Rift platform. We're looking forward to hearing from you on the following areas of the product:

  • Dash: Oculus Dash is the in-VR command center the pops up when you hit the Oculus button on your Touch controller. Dash allows you to access PC Desktop apps, your VR Library, and other system settings and services from anywhere in VR.
  • Desktop App: This is the out-of-VR Oculus application on your PC that allows you to do things like browse the store, manage your settings, and view your friends list, among other things.
  • General: Use this category for any feedback that doesn’t fit neatly into one of the other more specific categories.
  • Home: This is your customizable in-VR home where you can show off your unique style and decorations.
  • Store: The place where all VR app purchasing takes place. The Store category covers both the out-of-VR and in-VR stores.

  1. Rift console!

    Please make a console for VR so that I can buy your rift s headset. I recently bought the quest and am really amazed at what it can do with current hardware. I am a previous PSVR player/owner and after playing the quest and using controls and tracking want a stable based system with heavy processing that utilizes your equipment. The wireless experience is great but for extra power and qaulity I would pay for a oculus console. I would easily pay $800-1000 for a rift s with console bundle.

  2. Increase haptic feedback (rumble) on new touch controllers for Rift S

    I would like to see the haptic feedback (controller rumble) increased on the new touch controllers for Rift S. For example, In 3 different first person shooter (FPS) games the haptic feedback on the new touch controllers barely rumbles when shooting which decreases immersion, compared to the original touch controllers where the haptic feedback was much more pronounced.

    Hopefully this is something that can be improved with a software update.

  4. Facial membrane to track either an emotion or facial shape

    A facial silicone membrane that would allow oculus to track emotions and or the way you’re looking at something.

    Your facial shape could also be tracked and replicated within games thus giving a more realistic experience not only for a single player gaming experience but from a multiplayer perspective where they’ll be able to see how you react to things within a certain game.

  6. OCULUS HOME/DASH must improve! Movement, UI, RECENTRE VIEW, WATCH etc.

    OCULUS HOME/DASH - has the worst movement of all and even uses 2 Touch that are the same at it!
    - No Strafe!
    - 2 Touch to turn at 2x snail pace which is still SLOW!
    - Whilst trying to position yourself in front of the Avatar Mirror the Left/Right Joysticks move the Menu Panel!
    - We can walk through all our Objects/Furniture we add even though the room obstructs us e.g. a Fire Place!
    - RESET VIEW is in 3 different places yet does not utilise 2 Thumbsticks as most Games/Apps do so leave those unbound!

  9. Fix Locomtion Movement as Games use, Re-Centre with 2 Thumbsticks, make a ONLINE FRIENDS LOBBY e.g. The Store, and any Room As Default.

    You need to fix this because it is just stuff that annoys us: -
    1. ALLOW STORE OR HOME OR (new) ONLINE FRIENDS LOBBY to be our Default Page to prevent the unnecessary loading.
    2. IN HOME sort out the Movement so that it has a Strafe and the turning is a same rate of turn to other directions (2 Joysticks doing same things and using 2 Joysticks to turn slightly faster is just rubbish and has no strafe!)
    3. USING BOTH THUMB CLICKS should RECENTRE as that is the usual method everywhere else!!!

  10. Fix issues related to running Oculus Home behind a proxy and/or make the runtime work in offline mode.

    This feedback ticket is targeted for the use case of using the Oculus Rift in a business environment, but the requested feature can also benefit consumers.

    Business customers can’t install the software in common network environments. Most businesses use a proxy to communicate with the internet. The Oculus installer does not respect the proxy settings of the system, causing an "e.ishttperrorcode is not a function" error when trying to create a user account or logging in with an existing one. This is not the only bug when trying to install the Oculus software from within a restricted network environment, but…

  12. Track moving objects

    Make it so if there is a moving object (like a person or pet) in your play space/ inside of your barriers, you will get an alert or pass through will activate so you don’t hit anyone, anything, or you can see people trying to prank you while your playing. Would that be a good idea?

  14. Frustration free coil-less wire for Rift S please !!?

    VERY dissapointed at the sheer useless cable for the Rift headset. It knots up and curls up like a dried worm and ruins experiences. I was hoping for a wireless PC headset, but i guess that is a way off yet ? Quest is what i would have gone for, but i want more PC gaming.
    Anyway, i am pleading with Rift, PLEASE make the cable/wire for Rift S braided, or some material that does not coil up like a snake, PLEASE !

  15. Get a Quality Assurance Department

    You guys have kept slipping further and further up on my **** list, well you hit the top now(You were second, but Apple kept being so ***, then I sold off everything I owned of theirs, including and entire account of stock.). So here it is, drop your ridiculous idea of HOME IS MANDATORY. Just have a set of drivers for the rift and let the big boys handle the rest(i.e. Valve), I get it you have your store and need to make money so still offer that, but get rid of the VR home that NO ONE asked

  16. Option to extend warranty via a payment method

    I previously had to return my oculus for a refurbished model due to a blacking out/display related fault in the headset cable. My warranty ends in a few months and i don't want to be **** out of luck and have to buy a complete new headset if this new replacement suffers the same fault issue. So I was hoping there could be an option to pay for a warranty plan for a certain length of time to allow replacement in the event it is damaged or broken after the original warranty expires.

  18. Could you allow me to use rift CV1 HMD to create the YouTube content about my VR technical idea?

    Dear Oculus,

    I am Yongbum Kim from South Korea (Republic of Korea).

    I want to upload Youtube VR contents created using Oculus Rift HMD (CV1) and 3rd party's Mocap solutions.

    I would like to make a VR HMD required for performing this activity. But, I do not have the ability to produce such excellent hardware.

    It is so obvious. Because it's a masterpiece that the world's best engineers have built and updated over the years. Therefore, I have no choice but to use Oculus’s HMD for making the Youtube contents.

  19. Mirror Audio is a disaster! Although I can send Desktop to Oculus I can't do it opposite way for good use without bad latency!

    Useless!
    Design the Driver to duplicate Audio in Sync to onboard Sound (or card) rather than this latency delay!

  20. Spectators

    Rift is a phiscally solitary experience. Even at VR parties, everyone who's not in vr isn't gripped by the TV screen's flat representation.

    To remedy this, enable users to view the experience from their perspective using gear vr or phone app.
